CM916
1998 Wild Card Round: Aikman, Smith, and the Dallas Cowboys, just three years removed from their last Super Bowl win, take on the Arizona Cardinals who had just earned their first postseason berth since 1982 and had not won a postseason game since the 1947 Championship. The Cardinals had already been swept by Dallas in wins of 38-10 and 35-28 that season. It should have been a breeze. Instead, Aikman threw three costly interceptions and Dallas found themselves down 20-0 early in the 4th quarter. He finished the day 22 for 49 with 1 late TD, 3 INTs, and 191 yards with a 3.1 yards/pass average. He was sacked four times. On the other side, a young Jake Plummer wasn't much better but his mistakes didn't cost quite as much, he was never sacked, and the Cardinal's defense kept things under control all game. Final Score: Cardinals 20, Cowboys 7 The Cardinals have not been in the playoffs since that day but more importantly, Dallas has not won since 1996. It seems to me that some of that Cardinal curse rubbed off back in '98. :paranoid: :dallasuck
