BDawkinsSucks
Anyone else notice the skins are running more zone blocking plays for Portis this year? And Portis is taking advantage of it, breaking for first downs and showboating into the endzone against the Eagles/Smeagles. The majority of our runs were still of the old jalopy Saunders variety which resulted in small gains/losses. If they had committed fully to the zone blocking the entire game, Portis would've had over 100 yards. Check out the Portis' highlights against the Eagles at: http://www.nfl.com/videos .... Find the video labeled: Week 2: Clinton Portis Highlights (01:39) Every single rushing play in the above video, with the exception of one, is of Portis weaving through the gaps of the zone blocking scheme. Also look at SELLERS! If the Skins commit to zone, with Sellers lead blocking like Juggernaut, Portis will take the rushing title. MORE ZONE BLOCKING, PLEASE! There's a reason why Portis avg 5+ ypc in Denver. There's a reason why the T. Henry is there doing so right now. Stop trying to pound a square peg into a rhombus hole. The line of scrimmage is too crowded/chaotic to have linemen trying execute run blocking patterns.
Soup
yup, but all the good plays which gained a lot of yard were to the left. The right side is a different story.
