skinsfanbu
Here's the link: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news/ap/20021119/ap-rams-bulger.html Bulger won't practice until at least Friday November 19, 2002 ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger won't practice until at least Friday because of swelling in his sprained right index finger, partially deflating controversy over Kurt Warner reclaiming his starting job this week. Coach Mike Martz also said Tuesday running back Marshall Faulk, who missed Monday night's victory over the Bears with ankle and foot injuries, would be questionable for Sunday's game at Washington. The sprained ankle is by far the more troublesome of the injuries. ``It's just one that has limited him a bit,'' Martz said. ``We'll see what he's like in the training room.'' Martz reiterated that Warner, who missed five games plus the bye week with a broken right pinkie, would be back as No. 1 Sunday at Washington. Bulger was injured when he was stripped of the ball on a fumble in the first quarter. Warner played one series while Bulger was off for X-rays and two pain-killing injections, but Bulger was able to finish the game and was 21-for-35 for 347 yards. Martz said team doctors feel the swelling will go down in Bulger's finger by Friday. Martz added that Warner will get all the snaps with the No. 1 offense this week. Bulger has thrown for 1,496 yards in five starts, an NFL record for the first five starts of a career, with 12 touchdown passes and four interceptions. Brown 43
Why can't the Skins "find" a QB like Bulger? Sh*%!
@DCGoldPants
Its the system, not the QB. You put Warner in Buffalo or NE or Green Bay and he'd be a backup. He's just the right guy in the right situation. Looks like any halfway decent QB can walk in a run that system. Favre would put up 10K a year in there.......ok, not really. Brown 43
Let's do Martz's sytem then! I agree with you to a point, but you have to have some kind of talent to do what Bulgers doing. Mathews can't even complete a simple out pattern!
@DCGoldPants
ok, its the system and the locations they've played. Indoors or nice weather.
skinsfanbu
SOS said in pre-season that Martz' system was similiar to his own. Martz has the horses to run it, Warner, Faulk and several fast, smart wide-outs (except for Proehl, he's not that fast) that can execute the gameplan. Our guys are in the bottom of a well looking up towards the quality of play in St. Louis. Next year baby...just give us one more year....Danny, please! I don't buy that for a second. If it's all about the system, then why can't we get anything done? If anything else, haven't we learned this season that you still need talent to run a good system in the NFL?

If it was just the system, just pick a QB every year in te 7th round and pay him mininal money. Marshall Faulk is just a system guy? doubt it
theposse
It's the system plus the surrounding personnel. Warner and Bulger are probably at least decent, but the main thing is it's not that hard when you've got Bruce, Holt, and of course Faulk to throw to. And they've got a good system. Of course the line is key too- it started the year poorly and Warner was playing crappily and that killed them. To see an example of how key an o-line is, watch the Raiders. Now I do think Gannon is great, but he just repeatedly has all day to throw too.
