Awesome
in spurrier's most recent comments about DW he talked about his ability to stand in the pocket in the face of a blitz, make the quick read and get the ball out to the open man. now, everyone has been knocking DW on his weak arm. but, does spurrier's offense really need a guy with a cannon? NO. the one thing we know is that the offense will spread the field with multiple reciever sets. to counter act that, a defense will blitz b/c in a spread offense you're not going to have a lot of blockers in there. this forces the qb to make a quick read and deliver the ball. most of these throws won't be 30 yards down the field, they'll be 10-15. so, assuming that making quick reads and accurately throwing the ball are the top responsibilities for a spurrier qb, i think DW is a good fit. now, wether or not he's our starter is yet to be determined, but i have this feeling that spurrier is going to give him a shot at the #1 slot. PediGator
The concerns about DW should not be as much about arm strength as about arm speed. In the right system he can drop forty yard post patterns in over the heads of defenders with the best of them.
Anything more than that is a crapshoot anyway. Who cares if Kordell Stewart can throw a ball 70 yards?

It's the deep outs and tight slants and hooks which require the ball to get to where its going with a hint of mustard that he has not proven the ability to complete.
