Not amused by the showmanship of wide receivers Chad Johnson, Steve Smith and Terrell Owens, team owners voted Wednesday to approve a rule designed to curtail touchdown celebrations by players. "It's going to allow people to still celebrate," Indianapolis Colts Coach Tony Dungy said, "but put some limits on it." The ban on excessive or prolonged celebrations had been proposed this week by the league's influential competition committee and was ratified by a 29 to 3 vote of the owners. It needed at least 24 votes to be enacted. As with most rules, enforcement of this one promises to be a bit tricky, open to interpretation and, well, fraught with humorous possibilities. For instance, it will prohibit a player from going to the ground during a celebration or celebrating while still on the ground after being tackled in the end zone. So, while a player can still shake his booty, he just can't shake it while lying on the ground. Click on link for full article...
