Dexter's Better Posted September 4, 2002 Share Posted September 4, 2002 When we had the discussion about the Gillespe/Watson "battle" I said that I have not seen a reason keep to Betts, besides being a #2 back. Seriously, I want someone to point where he showed some "flashes" of what he is capable of. I thought he was a HUGE stretch in 2nd and I think he is a huge stretch now. Why is everyone making exuses ? "Betts is hurt, when he is healthy he is the #2." Where is this rational coming from? He has shown poor vision and he doesn't pick up blocks well. He actually has show very little to earn his roster spot besides the money we have invested in him. I have also bashed Snyder and Vinny on the 2000 draft (riggo-toni sees the light). This team never wanted Betts at all. They wanted Portis. When Denver took Portis one spot before them in the second round they paniced and didn't make the right decision.
