santanamoss89 Posted November 27, 2005 Share Posted November 27, 2005 Watch out for Rams Rookie QB,Ryan Fitzgerald next week. 3 days after his 23rd birthday the back-up QB who was a 2nd stringer entering todays game got a chance to play. late in the 1st quarter the Rams starter, Jamie Martin got sacked and was injured on 3rd down. The Rams punted after that play. Early in the 2nd quarter with the rams down 14-0 Ryan Fitzgerald was put into the game. On his 1st set of downs the Rams went 3 and out with Fitzgeralds 1st NFL pass atempt being incomplete. The next possession he was 4-6 with 45 yds. and also a 10 yard run to set up a Rams field goal. The Texans went up 24-3. The Rams came back to win in OT with a gamewinning 56 yard pass from Fitzgerald to Kevin Curtis. The rookie finished the game with 310 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception in 3 quarters and an overtime. Also he was 19 for 30 with 23 rushing yards on 3 attempts. The bottom line is next week against the rams if the skins lose they have practically no chance for playoffs so it is by far the most important game of the season. And if Jamie Martin is out were playing against a pretty good rookie QB. I've seen him play a couple of college games at Cornell University near my house and he waas phenominal.
