Agree with you that the Bears supporting cast > Commanders.

I do like the weapons Daniels has though over the 2012 team.   #1 WR was Garcon in 2012 and he got banged up in game 1.  Morgan and Aldrick, etc were just ok.   TE was probably a wash.   Alfred Morris had a career year his rookie season, wonder though if much of that was the RO which had defenses off balance.

2012 Oline was better though.  Dismantiling a good O line and failing to rebuild it is among the long list of infamous aspects of Rivera's legacy here.   I also like the coaches and talent on defense now better than in 2012.

    Agree.  It comes off ridiculous.

They keep it together in part by doing almost nothing in FA year after year.  Will McClay is a stud drafter, might be the best in the league.  But it feels like this year might be their last shot.  Dak and Micah need to be paid.  Dak supposedly wants 60 million a year.  And I'd guess Michah wants 30.  Something has to give.

DQ eyeing micah closely, ready to pounce when the time comes with all the cap space we still have

I would just like to see him develop a feel for sliding away from pressure within the pocket. Having him bail anytime there's pressure is a recipe for disaster (aka, broken leg).

I’m more concerned with what he does after bailing the pocket, not how often he bails.

If he embraces the slide/getting out of bounds instead of always going for the extra yards or big play, we’re good

show him tape of rg3, this is what happens when you don’t listen to your coaches and act like you’re invincible

  3. Out of the top 3 receivers, only one (MHJ) landed in an ideal situation. Nabers has to deal with the dumpster fire that is danny dimes and odunze is in a very crowded receiving room. Don't think I'd bother with either one in fantasy

I see OROY early on being a three-way race between Caleb, Jayden, and MHJ. But unless MHJ has a megatron level historic season it'll probably really come down to the two QBs by the end of the season

Either that or he's hungry. He is kinda skinny...

Those DQ chicken strip baskets are legit.

I used to murder those chicken strip baskets back in college. With the honey mustard and ranch. Had to put myself on a strict diet after that

I sure AF hope not. Tress has earned every bit of field cred this team ever gave him. Our only consistently elite player on a team filled with clowns and is also one of our most tenured players. Who the heck is JD to even consider asking Mr. Way to have his number? Tress is the one who make jersey #5 significant. And now a friggin rookie who has never even played a down for us feels entitles to take his number?? FuggggThat. Reminds me of how  Haskins got to wear Joey T's semi-retired number  bc he was Snyders pet pick. (Yes, I know Haskins "asked" but I'm sure Joe felt pressured to give it up.)

Let JD give credibility to a new number, make it his new lucky one. In other words, let him "EARN" it. JMO, YMMV

It is a truly a sad state of affairs when the most consistent and valued member of the team over all these years has been the punter

With that said, I'm giving his jersey number to JD if he wants it. Sorry but he's a punter

Get him another stud WR and one more upgrade on the OL. Those would be my post draft priorities, even at the cost of 2025 draft picks.

Could luke mccaffrey be used as a bargaining chip in negotiations with san fran, and thats why we took him where we did? I wouldn't be surprised if SF had wanted to draft him. Obviously it would take much more than just LMC to get the trade done but maybe he could push the deal over the edge

As a member of Maye Nation I have to say…I think we may have simply over valued him and under valued Daniels. By just about every count JD5 was QB2 in this draft, not Maye who only a small minority preferred. Nothing is guaranteed of course, but this was the right pick. Im fully on board(but do think Maye will also end up being good if the Pats develop him properly).

This is why the constant bashing and name-calling of Daniels started to get really old

    Some other options:

    Kool-Aid

    Edgerrin Cooper

    Kingsley Sumatra

    Ennis Rakestraw

Cooper DeJean and then Ladd McConkey please and thank you

We are all fans of the team. It’s good to have differing opinions. This is the honeymoon period and I am going into it with a positive outlook. It’s been negative for so long, I want to feel bought into the front office, staff and ownership. I gave my opinions before the pick was made and now that he’s the QB, I am going to give him a chance and try to be as positive as possible.

I really do hope I am wrong on my pre draft assessment on this one. Time will tell. We will cross that bridge once we get some games under the belt. My absolute preference is for him to light up the league and get us a Lombardi. I’m 50 now and I want to see us win another one or three before I die. If he’s the guy to do it, I am happy to eat all the crow in the world.

Im thinking Zach Ertz is going to be a more necessary target, not saying he wont link up with Terry on occasion but a nice dependable safety blanket while learning the ropes will be huge for him.

I can see that but when I think of safety blanket I've got my eyes more on ekeler since he's such a stud pass-catching RB. I hope he learns to utilize him as a fallback option when things break down instead of thinking he always has to take off

Value at the top of the second is looking like CB.

One of DeJean or McKinstry should be there. Also Cooper at LB is a nice option.

Im hoping though that we get McConkey. He can play outside but I’d use him more inside - plug him in the slot and he’s an 80+ catch a season guy.

Mcconkey is the next cooper kupp, get him
