I saw this on FB, as Commanders fan would you be good w/this deal or a similar deal which would  involve trading up to get Williams?

Personally I’m not for trading up, I’m sure throughout the league rumor mill and GM talk that the pulse of the Bears is widely known what their plans are, to trade Fields or stick with him

We need to stay put at #2  no way we trade away all that, I would be sick. Let the players fall where they fall. I'm not a big William fan anyways. And when I see a crazy/dumb trade scenario like that I really don't want him. Didn't he say he didn't want to play for the Bears anyways, They are keeping Justin Fields. I see through their bluff.  I said it before and I will say it again let the players fall where they fall at #2 we need all the draft picks we can get, we are not one player away from winning anything.

Why would drafting Maye be shocking if Klingsbury was/is the OC?

Maye is very mobile and a good runner - at least as good a runner as Mahomes, probably better.

He is definitely very mobile. Seems to me just as much as Williams. I may be the odd man in here but I don't like Williams as much. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. Let's get Tanner Engstrand from the lions in for an interview, kick the tires on him. See if he has the aptitude to be a HC, let's get new blood and not try to polish a turd with Quinn or any other candidate that's been a head coach. You can polish a turd till you see your reflection, but in the end of the day is still a turd.

Just looking at videos of our next HC.  Definitely not a Rivera clone as some have claimed.

So I'm more lively version of Ron Rivera nothing more. The dude might be a great person. Rah rah guy but the records speak for themselves, he's an average head coach. Great defensive coordinator end of story.

It’s only a dropped ball if the hire turns out to be bad.  I don’t actually think we do know that a Quinn hire would turn out to be average or below.

His track record says different as a head coach. Now a defensive coordinator is different but we're not hiring him for that.

It’s all just optics that is getting everyone upset at this point.  If they had hired Macdonald this morning everyone would be pretty happy.  But do any of us really have a clue whether Macdonald will be a better HC than Quinn, or Weaver, or Glenn?  It’s just the optics.

No but it gives us hope. We know what we have in Quinn and it's average < blow average. MacDonald would of gave hope for the future with his potential. One of the young up and coming coordinators. Let's face it Peters /front office dropped the ball. And now we have to look in the scrap pile for a HC

If we were so high on Quinn, why haven’t we moved on him yet?

IMO we clearly preferred Johnson and Macdonald and both turned us down.

We are onto Plan C or later. Not an auspicious start.

Whoever Peters picks, he better be right.

Strike one for Peters taking the slow approach thinking they had Ben in the bag and Mike as option #2 and that didn't happen. 🙄 Plan C,D,E is never how you want to start out. Bad look, bad start on his part.

  8. Well we are F'd, taking the slow approach has really set us back. Now it's Dan who is Ron 2.0 so we are in for a mediocre next 4 years not the way I was seeing this going with the new GM. Not to mention why didn't we clean house when he was hired that's a whole different subject but still worth mentioning.

When I look at Dan Quinn's career, I get less and less impressed.  His first 2 years as a DC, he had the #1 defense.  Ok, cool.  But then you see that Gus Bradley was really the architect.  They were a top 5-10 defense the 2 years before Quinn before Bradley left to coach the Jags.

Then in 6 years in ATL, they were 20th or worse 4 times on defense.  The offense carried those teams.  The Dallas defense has definitely improved observing him, but that doesnt give me the warm and fuzzies about being a HC again.

Exactly, Dan is Ron all over again.

What made Seattle think it was going to work for Carroll?

What made New England think it was going to work for Belichick?

What made Kansas City think it was going to work for Reid?

What made St. Louis think it was going to work for Dick Vermeil?

What made Indianapolis think it was going to work for Tony Dungy?

Well most of them had a quarterback. We're still in search of ours. And Andy Reid was a hell of a coach in Philadelphia. Belichick had Brady we see who Belichick really is now. Carroll had the best Russell. And Tony had Peyton. ..... Dan Quinn had Matt Ryan and did nothing. He would be a loser pick we know who he is and it's average at best.

At least with Raheem you could argue he was dealt a crap hand with Freeman and could see the arguement for him being better this time around.  Quinn was handed a top 10 qb and top 3 receiver for his entire tenure and still managed to hover around .500.

Exactly, we have seen what he is about as a HC (not impressed) he is best suited to be a defensive coordinator. Let's see what a new up and coming coordinator has to offer and go with it

If it's MacDonald or Quinn, they could go Klint Kubiak for OC. Peters knows him well from SF and Quinn would have the Kyle connection.

Quinn has been a head coach and it didn't work out. What makes them think it's going to work out here? Definitely don't want him. I want an up and coming coordinator like MacDonald

Thanks for this, I have always been in the Maye camp. But I still believe he does not have the athletic ability of Daniels or the 2 playing yesterday.  As tempting as it is to get a player like that I'm sorry I just can't erase the images of Lamar and Kyle Murray in the playoffs.

Well definitely not as athletic Daniels but he is very athletic for his size definitely as athletic as Mahomes. I really like him as well he would be my #1 choice.

And Chase Young in all his mediocrity may get a ring , What a kick in the Nuts. Happy for Trent though.

I hope they don't , I can't stand the Taylor Swift, Chiefs ass kissing but I'm bitter I don't want to see Chase or Trent with a ring. Too bad they both can't lose.  I really wanted to see the Lions get a ring. Even though that would have delayed us from getting our coach.

Wonder if we might bring back Samuel.  I get those wanting the big wr addition (and no reason returning Samuel rules out drafting that type of guy), but a speedy, gadget player is surely appealing to a guy like Ben Johnson…

I’d lean towards it not happening - deep draft and lots of higher priority FA needs - but maybe?

Samuel and Allen are on the trading block. In my opinion

  16. 31 minutes ago, TheBlueIndian said:

This is assuming that Allen is viewed as added value over the currently rostered player or draft pick any team willing offer up a 2nd. Coming off a so so year where he allowed his emotions to get the better of him whilst playing for a dumpster fire turned controlled burn, might have diminished his perceived value.

i love Allen but his antics this year were stupid and petty, not that of a team leader, FFS the finish line was in clear view. If I can see this as a homer fanboy so does everyone else

Well maybe a 3rd round pick then haha 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😂...who knows, just have a feeling they are going to entertain trade offers for him.
