Dear baby Jesus Dan Quinn please don’t disregard ILB like our last regime. Go get Luvu.

I was wondering why this isn't talked about? Redskins LB's are very weak overall. It hurts in stopping the run and covering short/mid range passes from the opponent. Plus, LB makes for a good QB(in calling the plays signaled from the sidelines) on the defensive side of the ball. For LB's I can only think of Davis, as who else do we have?

    **** Dallas.

they will make an early exit from the playoffs as usual.

The Cowboys are just about the same as years past. They improved their D immensely, but Dak still fails under pressure when playing against good teams. The 49ers/Eagles are the 2 teams the Cowboys have to get by in the playoffs, yet the Cowboys lost handily to both in their regular season match-ups.

Yeah , not liking Romo. I do like Aikman though

I actually like Romo because he's gives very good analysis, but Nance is a Nancy! The only problem I had with Romo today was him gobbling about how good a roster the Cowboys are to win the SB(at least 4 times he said it). It's just so foolish to proclaim that. Cowboys keep failing against the Eagles/49ers, and we know Dak constantly comes up short against the real good teams.

Bears have two of the top 3 picks....we could trade up with them and get into even better QB position if they want to move back and pick up an extra 1st next year. In other words, one of the top 2 QB's on the board is starting to come into view if we want to pay the price.

No more trading up to get so n so better player! We have our QB, now we need players to PROTECT Sam! If a top O-line player is available in our draft spot, then we take him, other wise we should consider trading down and get more picks.

tons of reports from their beat writers that they’re prepared to move on if they’re in position for the top two guys.

anything could happen, of course, I’ll be rooting for every single bad team in the league to win every week (except us)

We are so bad right now, this team could very well end up 4-13. The teams with worse records right now don't have the talent this team has. This season really has been a good deal about how bad the coaching has been.

Jack needs to be gone tonight and if that means Ron is gone well bye

Jack@ss needed to be fired years ago! He was given good talent on D and wasted it. I would like to see a new DC who can game plan based on the talent he's given and maybe make LB's in the D relevant again. Maybe also this next DC has scheme's to disguise the D's weaknesses.

One of these years we are actually going to hit on one of these first round generational 1st round picks. Seems like for the last 30 years most of our hyped up 1st rounds picks have busted. I hope most of that was due to the Snyder curse and lack of competent GMs

Until this team can find another Beathard or Casserly, drafting and free agency are gonna continue varying in results.

I was fine moving on from Hopkins.  I would have to think there is a better kicker out there than Blewitt.

    I guess not.

Maybe we should draft a kicker in the 6th round...  (that's a joke.  Though I don't mind the 6th for Cheeseman as much as some do.)

Didn't the Redskins draft Gano or was he an undrafted signee?

Lambo has an 87.1% rate since 2015, bettering Hopkins by 3%. I'd be okay with giving him a shot, but otherwise, I'd be open to sticking our hands in the rough and seeing if we can pull out a diamond. It's not like Kai Forbath had a huge resume to his name. Lots of college kickers out there who would love to get their shot. And hopefully ones that have kicked in the past 3 years.

    How is Lambo on Kick-offs?

Surely someone out there has done a simulated trajectory study of these kicks to see if they are abnormally low??? Or is everyone just piling on here?

If you don't like the new guy, that's fine. But for those of you arguing that Hopkins was a keeper.....😆😆😆

It was the right thing to do to release Hopkins. Since his 1st year with us, he has gone downhill since. On potential game winning kicks, in the 40's yard range, he wasn't clutch enough. Also Hopkins was too inconsistent from 48+ yards. A lot of kickers are being far more consistent making kicks from 48+ yards. Hopkins was overdue to be released. The problem, the evaluation process in bringing in another kicker who can be consistent enough.

     Good job, Ron!!

     No, GREAT job, Ron.

Cutting Hopkins was a bad move, period.  Even when he does miss a kick, at least they're getting past the LOS...

3 blocked kicks could be because the chemistry/timing is not there yet between Blewitt, Way and Cheeseman. From what I have noticed, Cheeseman puts a lot of zip on his snaps and hasn't quite learned to finesse his snaps yet. Way seems to be fine or adjusted on the punts but FG's are more complicated of things needed to be right, compared to a punt.

2 weeks of kicker tryouts to find a sleeper!

Priority #1 during the bye week.

Well if there are tryouts, whoever try's out should be tested with equipment on and with Cheeseman snapping, Way holding and the FG teams(offensive side/defensive side) as well. Trying out kickers just using a kicking tee will not prove much. Blewitt only missed one kick using a kicking tee in his tryout.

    Don't fire the kicker.

Blewitt put the 45 yarder almost straight down the middle. It's unfortunate his 42 yarder was blocked. He was strong on his kickoffs. If Blewitt can equal or better Hopkins, it's a win decision for Rivera because Blewitt only makes $780k, while Hopkins was making $2.5 million! That close to 2 million can be put to better use for another position player.

  14. This is a 5 min YouTube video of Chris Blewitt, dated 9/26, making kicks from 33 yards(extra point distance) up to 57 yards. He's kicking with that special kickers holder tee and wearing no equipment. I like the fact his kicks are hard and straight. Looks like he has a good strong leg and good control of his kicks. Not sure about his kick-offs. In an actual game situation it's different, so we'll see what happens against the Packers.

  15. I haven't seen anyone on here mention it that Hopkins salary was $2.5 million per season. Simple, he didn't live up to his contract. You can obviously argue that he was being paid too much, but the fact was he was one of the worst kickers in regard to making kicks between 50 to 55 yards(either he would miss or not attempt anything over like 51 yards). Quite frankly, I was seeing a lot of the opponents kickers were making 50 to 55 yards with far more accuracy than Hopkins. The guy has the leg strength, but his accuracy has been questionable multiple times and even some of his made kicks have looked awkward at times.

Newly signed Chris Blewitt's salary will be $780k.

With the teams revolving door with kickers being cut and then succeeding with another team, you have to wonder that maybe the team has never had serious thought into hiring a good kicking coach or consultant?

I'm not expecting much from Blewitt. He's cheap and I think he's worth a shot considering this looks like an ugly lost season anyways. In the offseason they can probably pickup another vet who was let go or sign an undrafted kicker, as most teams don't risk picking a kicker in the draft.
