  1. From the limited tape I saw, had the same conclusion as Voice of Reason: McCarthy looks to me, well behind Daniels & Maye.

As an admitted novice,  I thought Daniels protection was better than Maye's; he seemed to have plenty of time in the pocket & was good at exploiting the gaps that opened up and had the confidence to wait for that. Obviously won't have that luxury at the top level but shows smarts & quick thinking. An absolute athlete on the run, and evasive, but how sustainable with the body size? Would need a stellar protection scheme. Also had a couple of "go to" guns out wide.

It's hard not to think Maye's size would be more attractive to a re-building franchise. Too simplistic? Strikes me he's basically got the solid skills to invest around & like was mentioned, had nowhere near the protection Daniels enjoyed, but generally handled the pressure ok.

Much enjoy the banter in here.  can't wait for all to be revealed.

Yep, we needed a grey beard head coach.  We've got a new ownership group, a young first time GM, and we're about to have a rookie QB.  Someone in the leadership circle needed some actual experience in order to set standards for the organization.  In hindsight, Ben Johnson was never going to be that guy.

I like Quinn.  I like him way more than Rivera at the time of his hiring, and I like this org chart about a million times more.  I'm not going to jump off the bandwagon on this build unless they do something idiotic at QB.  We'll see what happens in April, but I don't think they will.  That part of the equation is the biggest no-brainer choice for us to make IMO.  GM and HC were as tricky as they were critical, and not at all obvious decisions to a bunch of dummies on the outside like all of us in here.  Bob Myers is really good.  Harris and the other owners have done well this offseason.

Couldn't agree more with this summary, after much reflection on what we genuinely needed for the franchise at this stage.

Speaking from experience, it’s battered fan syndrome- always expecting the worst.  Particularly when it seems like things are looking up.

It's real, after all these years BUT we have a very decent owner & now GM who know the criteria of what they want.

    They'll get their best guy

  5. Hey all, new (overseas) boy to these boards, love all the opinion & emotion; after watching Jahan's film & interviews, will not be surprised if he has a very decent career & rocks it in the burgandy & gold. The kid carries a football around with him 24/7, lives & breathes it, since 4 years old he said. If character equals success, this kid will have it.

Can't wait to see him in action.  Sure it's early days, but quietly confident about our picks so far.

  6. I'm a white guy living outside of the States but have visited many times.

I could never understand why Colin Kaepernick was vilified & basically barred from the NFL for taking the knee.

And now I see Roger Goodell crying crocodile tears over the current situation.

I'm sorry but I have great difficulty with him as a credible voice at the moment.

Reinstating Kaepernick would be quite a significant statement, however.
