Enough is enough. A fond farewell.

I’m right behind you Sparkosaurus! Final nail in the coffin with the parting of Brian Lafemina. A man that was attempting to change the culture by showing transparency and reaching out to the fan base challenged the ethics of Danny and Bruce. I’ve been a Skins fan since 1969 as a five year old in a Redskins household in Richmond, VA. I’ve lived in South Carolina since 1986, and most years since 1989, I’ve attended a Redskins home game with family members. I thought I might hold out if Bruce is pushed out of the organization, but I doubt it will happen. Even if no longer team president in title, Six Flags Danny will keep him around in some capacity. To my core, after almost 20 years, nothing will change as long a Snyder owns the team. So now I need to choose a new team to support. The Panthers are the closet team, but not really feeling it. Falcons and Jaguars around 4 hours from where I live. We shall see. I’ll keep my Redskins gear wity the hope I outlive Daniel Snyder; I’m just under a year older than him. So long and best wishes to all. Sincerely, SavetheSkins

    Boycott The Redskins

How many of you on this Forum truly respect this organization? Do you respect Dan Snyder and his almost 20 year track record? Do you respect Bruce Allen, his nine year 40% win percentage, and multiple PR dumpster fires? Do you respect Jay Gruden's coaching ability and leadership during his 5 year tenure? Do you think this organization has shown they are capable of putting a leadership team and long term plan built for success that you can respect? Do you feel respected by the Game Day experience provided by the front office at FedEx field, and the product on the field during Dan Snyder's reign? For those kool aid drinkers that continue to say success is right around the corner, how many more years of the same blueprint for failure do you need to see? SavetheSkins

    Redskins Cut DJ Swearinger!

The one word theme of Snyder's ownership history: DYSFUNCTIONAL! Releasing DJ today just the latest example. He should have been disciplined weeks ago, and to cut him without trying to get something in return further reinforces the arrogance and ineptitude from Dan, Bruce and throughout the organization. I had already made my mind up to no longer attend any more Redskin games until Bruce is fired. I live in South Carolina, but I've attended at least one home game with a couple of exceptions since 1989. I went to the Skins-Jags game to support Josh Johnson and cruise the stadium with my protest sign pregame: Redskins Barnum & Bailey Snyder/Allen I hope the attendance for the Skins-Eagles game is below 50,000. I'm done with putting money into Snyder's pockets until Bruce is canned along with Jay and the other coaches, except maybe Tomsula. I'm at at peace just in time for Christmas. SavetheSkins

Next Day Thread: Redskins vs. Jaguars

I was at the game yesterday. Although I refuse to attend anymore home games until Bruce is fired (Jay needs to go too)., I wanted to root for Josh Johnson, and was hoping we had a good showing. I also was allowed to bring this sign into the stadium. With around 25% Redskins fans at the game, it was a fun 1.5 hours of cruising all levels of the stadium pre-game. Especially holding the sign up towards the Visitor’s Luxury boxes! Hoping Dan and the gang saw it. One older woman had a look of disdain and gave me the thumbs down. I responded by pointing to the sign and holding my nose. It was a big win and the team showed heart and guts!

    Evaluating Jay Gruden in 2018

Wow, front office apologists. What’s the Skins record during Bruce’s tenure? 58-82-1, 40% win percentage, unacceptable. Bruce’s gutless no show post Reuben Foster signing. No public comments or press conference. Throw Doug Williams under the bus. Bruce’s handling of Cousins contract debacle. Have a good day Kurt.

Who should be the next head coach for the Skins

Completely agree Snyder and Allen are the bigger issues, and I detest both of them. Allen should be fired tomorrow if Danny Boy had any character and leadership. As Skins fans, it comes down to two choices: 1) Recognize that Snyder will continue to own the team for a long time. Continue to advocate for bringing in a President/GM that can install a credible football operation, and have a long term successful plan. 2) Based on Snyder’s almost 20 years of clown car leadership, close down the forums, stop watching/attending Redskin games, and find another team to support. I’m leaning towards option 2. SSDYear I’m about done with.

Who should be the next head coach for the Skins

That was just one example of Gruden’s Achilles heel; Inflexible playcalling, and poor in game adjustments. Regarding the “same team next year”, I doubt we retain 100% of this year’s roster. Waiting for your expert reply...

Who should be the next head coach for the Skins

I’m sure Jay Gruden would be a great neighbor to invite to a cookout. But I don’t like him as our head coach, and he has lost the players now. They don’t respect him.

Who should be the next head coach for the Skins

Scapegoat? Are you kidding us? He doesn’t adjust his play calling based on his players/talent. Prime example is AP. His career was built on vertical run plays, often out of an I formation. Does Jay do this? No, majority of run calls are lateral with him.
  10. Clinton Portis calling out the offensive play calling now on The Team 980. He is spot on!
  11. Agreed! More proof Jay and staff should be canned ASAP. Picking Sanchez over Josh Johnson more proof!

Unbias, your post about Bruce has more of an apologist vs. unbiased tone. I will have to go back and research all the debacles during Bruce's tenure that have his fingerprints all over the pickle jar. Here's a few: Current handling of Reuben Foster signing. Too gutless to make a public statement as Team President. Throwing Doug and Jay under the bus to defend/explain the signing. Handling of the "Kurt" Cousins contract fiasco. Need I say more? Propensity to take chances on players with injury histories to get them on the cheap. some have panned out (Jonathan Allen), but we wonder why we have so many injured starters the last few years? Smith and McCoy injuries unavoidable. Team record since Bruce's tenure roughly 40%. Do you think this is acceptable even with Snyder as the team owner? I think most on this forum agree the crumbling of this once great franchise rests at the feet of Six Flags Danny. So since we all realize it's not going to get better until Snyder sells the team, or reduces his ownership to a minority stake, why don't we all just pack it in and start rooting for the Ravens? I've been a Skins fan for 50 years, since I was 5 years old. Like Dandy Don Meredith used to sing on MNF, turn out the lights, the party's over. Let's all stop the madness, and quit lining the pockets of the current THE WORST OWNER IN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS. I'm hanging on by my fingertips hoping things will change, but at some point, why support a team that won't even attempt to earn the respect of their fan base?

Thoughts from those that know NFL defensive schemes/adjustments better than I? A few basic observations: 1) Too much run blitzing. Can cause disruption by D-Line shifts and stunts vs. blitzing. 2) Poor in game adjustments and substitutions. 3) Unwillingness to bench starters not performing. Prime example Ha Ha Dix. Poor angles and afraid to hit and tackle. Nicholson playing special teams, so he's healthy. I'd take my chances with him. At least he's aggressive, and a big hitter. Also, why not play JHD or even Zach Vigil who are better against the pass, and have better sideline to sideline speed vs. Mason Foster?
