Furiosa - (2024, dir. George Miller) - I can’t describe how much I loved this film. I enjoyed the character building part of it. I enjoyed the action sequences. I saw a review comparing it to Metallica that said “If Fury Road was “Enter Sandman” then Furiosa is “Nothing Else Matters”, the power ballad of this heavy metal movie franchise”. I think that kinda sums it up for me. Loved it. (4/4)
that’s a great way to describe it. I adore Fury Road and it’s one of the best action movies ever to me, so I wasn’t sure what to expects with Furiosa. Fortunately, it has stunning set pieces, more world building, and adds more heart than other Mad Max movies have done as it expands the legend of the character Furiosa in this crazy wasteland we love. Just a badass prequel to Fury Road that was a lot of fun. -

8-time defending Club Champion, right there!
was in the front yard working on some chipping with my 60 a couple weeks ago. My daughter is playing with her fisher price golf clubs. I’m barely doing anything. Just giving the ball a 1-2ft pop in the air for my daughter’s amusement. Wife is sitting on the front steps. Decide I’ll be cute, open the face up a little and try to get more air to impress my daughter. Skull the **** out of the ball, it somehow goes directly sideways and smacks the side of my wife‘s car.
wife looks at me: “I was wondering when that was going to happen”
me: “as someone that is familiar with my golf game, i was also wondering when it would happen”
I say all this to say, that shank is the most relatable thing Trump has ever done and yet I know he ruined it by immediately putting another ball down and not counting the stroke

I am genuinely worried that this verdict along with Joe's handling of the Israel Gaza crisis will lead to poorer prospects for Joe's re-election.
it seems genuinely impossible to think a candidate being convicted of 34 charges during a campaign somehow helps them in a presidential election.

You made a statement you could have pulled from a headline. Where is your evidence?
I don’t know man it must be really hard to think of things if you live under a rock as one of the enlightened ones that sees the truth through it all, that you don’t actually follow politics too closely but things like, civil rights, woman’s right to vote, social security, unions, Medicare, Medicaid, labor standards, ACA, minimum wages, lowering drug costs, student lunch programs, universal daycare, homeless programs, mental health initiatives, etcThey are all policies geared toward helping Americans, helping marginalized people, reaching equality, fairness etc.
are these the best ways to addresses the issues, some cases yes and some cases no. But in either scenario they don’t align with your view that they don’t do any good for anyone and are only interested in keeping power

but yes, around these parts the dems ideas are the best ideas. In the grand scheme of things that matter it’s not really on the list in my opinion. It should be expected as a normal healthy way for people that ascribe to a party. Without it being cultish.
i didnt even say they were the best ideas, simply that they were efforts to do the right thing and help Americans. I think it’s pretty easy to see these across decades benefiting Americans with any objective take.- 1

That's a nice sentiment--what do you base that on?
I only referenced the last 8 years for recenxy but you can look through all of US history if you’d like more details. -

My thought is they knew it would never go through, and even if it did--they can still point to the Trump boogeyman and rile up the Vote Blue crowd.
So your thought is to ignore reality and make up your own story so your beliefs still work for you?
expected.

This is why someone like Trump is perfect for the DNC--they don't have to change a goddamned thing if they continue to win. It's not about doing what's right or good for the country anymore. It's about winning an election and maintaining money and power.
except you can clearly view the DNC platform and Biden’s agenda and the policies pushed and passed by Dem Congress the last 8 years and see that they are interested in doing what’s right and what’s good for the country and helping Americans.
by your logic, Dems wouldn’t have impeached Trump for Jan 6th because if he was convicted in the Senate, he wouldn’t be able to run for president again. But they chose to do something that was right, with no immediate political benefit to them, that would potentially cost them the huge bonus, as you say, of running against Trump again.

At least no more Mark Jackson and JVG. They were insufferable.
They were fantastic with Breen and the abc /espn broadcast has suffered without them- 1

This was the running bit on the show from the time he got elected and he would routinely just admit to crimes in front of everyone- 1

I now get the hype.
Fwiw Dune 2 is dropping on Max, May 21.
they to catch 2 in theaters if any are still Showing it . It deserves to be seen in that formatOn 5/13/2024 at 2:59 PM, Spaceman Spiff said:When the **** did Zac Efron become a pretty good actor?
I think he’s similar to Pattinson (though not as good). Two great actors trapped in silly teen hearthrob franchises so they weren’t taken seriously and were overlooked but once they broke free of that, they were able to showcase their talent.- 1

Midsommar - Finally got around to watching this movie. What an absolute piece of trash. I haven't hated a movie this much since Joker. Zero stars.
what?!? Say it isn’t soedit: I see it’s been discussed and I’m behind. I really enjoyed it. Creepy and unsettling as hell, great cast. Tragic turn of events allows the cult to prey on this woman.
also, dumb teenagers/young adults. A classic of the genre

Not comparing him to Lamar but I think the plan is to have a lot more 2nd and 4’s to stay on schedule. The Ravens run game has been top 5 every season of his career, even without Greg Roman. You run the ball, you hit short passes and stay on schedule. Probably 3-5 quarterbacks can consistently make the 3rd and 8 passes.
I wouldn’t be upset if they took Corum at 40. I think he’s a quarterbacks best friend in terms of do it all including pass pro.
This works because Lamar is an elite runner that is elusive and always avoids big hits. JD is the exact opposite of Lamar as a runner. He’s not someone you can build the running game around like Lamar23 minutes ago, ANONYMOUS SOURCE. said:“Kurt” sure is a target for disrespect by whoever he plays for lol.
