  1. If you check out the news reports (Google the name of the volcano), it's not necessarily a Darwin Award situation.

11 year old kid crossed the fence to get a closer look. Fell into quicksand. Dad then Mom tried to save him. Got stuck too. All appear to have finally succumbed from the fumes.

    Damn tragedy. I know I crossed fences I shouldn't have when I was 11.

  2. Looks a lot like a wolf spider.  They live outside and sneak into our basements to eat bugs, then slip outside again.  Not exactly the type of spider I'd expect to sneak into the country inside a banana.

No banana guts whatsoever on him either.  I vote fake.

Now, with that said, and to paraphrase a line from the Game of Thrones thread, COULD PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS GOOD PLEASE STOP BUMPING THIS THREAD.  That is all.    ;)

  3. Sonny and Sam said:

"But the conjecture that it is caused by huge numbers of fans not renewing is not supported by the facts. At least in the lower level....."

I completely and 100% agree that the facts as we all understand them do not allow us to conclude that the hypothesis in question is, in fact, correct.

However, I maintain that the facts also do not permit us to conclude that the hypothesis in question is, conclusively and in fact, incorrect--as was asserted above. I brought up my renewal letter only as evidence contrary to that assertion, and not as an attempt to prove the hypothesis.

Genuinely appreciate your thoughtful and informative post Sonny (not sarcastic--it's very useful info).

  4. Thanks for quoting just the first three words in my post and backing it up with your purely anecdotal example.  Since your four seats were not sold, I stand corrected even though I allowed for that in my post.  But you wouldn't know that if you didn't read past the first three words . . .

WTF?  FedEx speculated that the ticket office is extending their deadline to try to get back people who had dropped their tickets.  Your entire post (not just the first three words) said he's wrong and here's why.

But it turns out that the ticket office has indeed extended their deadline to try to get back people who had dropped their tickets.  You know, like FedEx speculated.  That's the guy you called "wrong."  It's actually happening.  That's not an "anecdotal example" it's called evidence./  As in the kind that disproves your thesis that the ticket office is not extending its deadline to season ticket holders.  And nothing in your post "allowed" for that.

Dress it up / **** it up however you want, but you called a guy wrong and it turns out you're wrong.

  5. "That is wrong" -- wow, sounds pretty declarative. I guess you have all the answers.

In truth, it's not so cut and dry as that. I have good seats and did not renew. They originally told me I had until April 1 or my seats would be lost. Now I just received a letter yesterday that I had until May 23 to keep my seats. FedEx Nosebleed might be on to something.

In the meantime, if anyone wants to buy 4 seats in Sec 106 LL corner near the Redskins Tunnel for this season at face value, PM me.

  6. - 10,  if you count preseason......

^_^   thought long and hard about whether to go with 8 or 10.  I went with 8 because we seem to win preseason like we win the offseason.  It's not until games actually matter that our true crappage emerges...

  7. My 2015 invoice is live on my account manager. Do others have theirs?

My invoice is live too.  Bittersweet to see, it's really pushing a hard decision, since I can't afford my tickets this year, but I hate to give them up forever (4 seats in section 106 which is next to the tunnel--who knows when I might ever be able to get back there again?)

Has anyone ever had success selling their entire set of season tickets at face value for just one season?  Seems like the best options are Stubhub, NFL Exchange, ES classifieds, or Craiglist.  Any advice on the best way to go?

  8. Might be photoshopped.  Look how "Tonight" isn't reflected off the floor in the original image.

    Also: http://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/2ug2xx/luck_be_in_the_air_tonight/

???  No "i" is revealed in this version of the photo.  "Luck be in the air tonight" is the logical, and possible, answer.

RIght, but Vanna later reveals only two out of 3 'i' 's then returns to ready position in the first photo?  I'm just going to go with photoshopped (or aliens) so I can get back to work...

  9.

So I did a little googling and found this version of the photo:

Notice that the "i" in "in" hasn't been revealed in this version of the photo.  So the answer is indeed likely to be "Luck be in the air tonight."

Yah, but the 'i' hasn't been revealed in 'tonight' yet either.  So someone bought an 'i' and it was flipped in 'in' and 'tonight' and Vanna returned to her "ready position without revealing 'air'.

So I don't think it's "Luck be in the air tonight" which is a shame because this has been driving me nuts all afternoon  :-(

  10. Correct, you won't sit near me, which is good.. I'm on the 45 yard line lower level. Thanks.

Wow, umm, 3 weeks later you respond.  You got me good, I guess?

Edited to add: you first mocked me for arrogance over my excessive financial means.  Now you're mocking me because your tickets are in a zone I can't afford.  Wish you'd make up your mind

  11. Look genius,

People are saying they wish they could do the 6 month plan, but complain it’s only for newbies.

Well the 6 month plan is January to June.  So either you have the dough to start paying in January, or you don’t.

If you don’t, then the 6 month plan won’t help you.

If you do, then put 1/6 of your 11K invoice into savings in January, when payment one of this all-wonderful plan would have started,

In Feb put in another 6th.  You’re up $3666.

In Mar you get an invoice for $3666.  Pay it from savings.  Put another 1/6th into savings.  Net-net you’re up $1833.

In Jun you get another invoice.  Put another 1/6th into savings.  Pay your invoice from savings.  Net-net you’re still on par with the 6 month plan.

In July, you get another invoice.  You would have put 1/6th into savings, i.e. $1833.  But pay the last invoice for $3666.  Net-net you’re only down $1833 from what you would have been on the 6 month plan, which you would have paid the next month.

And if $1833 of cash flow for one month is going to make life that impossible, then you have to seriously question why/how/whatthe**** you’re doing spending $11K on football tickets.  So I guess go ahead and cancel if you’re trying to prove a point or something—glad I won’t have to sit near you.

Financial independence?  Hardly--I'm ****ing broke.  But I know that whether I pay every month for 3 months, or every month for 6 months, IT's THE SAME DAMN AMOUNT GENIUS.  Make your own payment plan, it's doesn't have to be the schedule the Redskins set up for you.

  12. Really? How many tickets do you have and what price point are they? You want to pay an $11,000 invoice over a 3 month period?? I certainly don't consider that whining, it is being realistic and is common courtesy. I don't even have a debit card that allows a $4,000 automatic withdrawal at once. Maybe some of us (like me for example) have the kind of business where our income is much greater April - July than it is in Janaury - March. So before you "smdh" perhaps you should consider that different people have different situations that need to be addressed. My daughter, who just graduated college, cannot afford to pay March, April and May, but she can afford to pay a 6 month plan She hasn't had the opportunity to save that amount yet and she plans to pay with her "future income" not her past savings. Not all of have unlimited funds. Perhaps your post is based on your given situation, but not all of us have unlimited funds. And yes, it is enough (along with many other factors) to cancel tickets over if there is no money there to pay the invoice. SMDH. Thanks.

TLDR.  You bought your tickets, stop whining about having to pay for them.. Nobody put a gun to your head.  One way or another, whether 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months, it's all due by August.  So start setting aside money early.

I pay $5100 for my tickets an I'm unemployed.  I made my choice, I just don't **** about it.

  13. Geez all the whining about a 6 month plan.  The 6 mo plan is Jan-Jun.  So set aside 1/6 of your future invoice NOW into savings.  Do it again in Feb.  You'll be ahead of the game when payments start in March.  So it ends up being 5 mos instead of 6: Jan-May.  Really enough to cancel tickets over?!?  smdh
