  1. (Although one of the most surreal sights came when it was first sponsored back in the early eighties by the Milk Marketing Board. For every Milk cup tie, we had the bizarre sight of a massive 10/15 ft tall bottle of milk in the center circle before games. :ols:.).

:ols: It could've been worse, Viagra cup anyone?

  2. And Charlie Adams goes to Stoke

Tottenham are going nuts. The French keeper. £ 22 million sterling on the Portuguese midfielder. Now Dempsey.

    Hail.

Guess they see their chance to surpass the Gooners

  3. Yes, trying to be funny but also sincere. Nasri is a douche (even when he was with Arsenal) but City have a good group. Don't like Balotelli, but the guy can play. But seriously you're the first City fan I've "met".

I live outside of PIttsburgh now, Steeler fans are like ****roaches, they are everywhere in the US and around the world. You can find Steeler bars around the world.

Nasri is a good player and he hasn't done anything too bad while at city (yet) but from his behavior on the international level it's clear that he can be a real douche. It appears most french players have an element of douchiness to them.

So what are the team allegiances here? GHH=Lverpooll, El= Arsenal?

  4. Are you a City fan? If so, I'll congratulate you now because you are the FIRST city fan in America I've met in 34 years. This is what Neil Armstrong must've felt like.

Didn't catch the humor in your post, that's funny :ols:

*Resists urge to joke on finding a Utd fan in Manchester .....

We found a Wimbledon season ticket holder once in a bar at Euston waiting for a train home from West Ham. He even got his book out as it was at the time to prove he was, lol. It was surrealy bizarre and funny as all heck at the same time.

    Thought I'd share, shrugs.

    Hail.

I don't believe this happened without a pic :pfft:

Yeah, I've come out as a city fan on this thread before.

Before you call me out as a bandwagon fan I started watching the EPL in 2006 when I was immediately attracted to City and I've been follwoing them faithfully ever since. City has a huge following in NYC too

  6. Here you go: http://www.nba.com/summer-league/2012/players/sl_bradley_beal/index.html

.719 from the line. Not good but not bad either.

Thanks, that's actually a lot better than I thought it was. I was thinking it was in the mid 50s.

After taking a second look I see that he was 50% from the line in the games versus Houston and Memphis and then he went 89% versus Atlanta and the D-League. He averaged a .769 last year at Florida so I hope he can improve on his consistency and move his percentage up to the 80s.

Regardless I still really like Beal and can't wait for the season to start.

  7. I never get to see any BPL matches, only on occasion do I see a replay but I did get to watch the Manu and City match last week. I had the same feelings I get when I watch a Skins game, ridiculously nervous, biting my nails, just a nervous wreck. I understood what was on the line. I can honestly say this sport really is amazing, so much skill from the athletes it blows my mind. I've really started learning about the players by watching behind the scenes on City TV and I really respect a lot of them now becuase they generally seem like good people....maybe with the exception of Balotelli, but he IS funny as hell.

It's amazing how much I agree with you. I started watching the Premier League back in 2006 and I became enamored with Man City. After watching my first season I realized that I completely related to the Man City fans. A once prominent and historic club had been in the dumps for years, they reminded me of the Skins. I wasn't alive when the Redskins were great so I immediately related to the long-suffering that City fans felt. I now find myself rooting for City every week.

I also find it unprecedented how City TV provides access to the fans of players day to day interactions. I think it's great for the club and I've been hoping the Redskins adopt a similar strategy.
