Sasaki, who hit 140 high school home runs and then made waves by opting out of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball league draft, has been immersing himself in classes and a new culture on Stanford’s Bay Area campus for two-plus months. He’s learning English in impressively speedy fashion and getting settled in a baseball routine that has included road trips with the team before he begins his collegiate career in earnest this fall.

The 19-year-old prospect will make his U.S. debut Tuesday in the MLB Draft League, playing for the Trenton Thunder of New Jersey along with others hoping to one day develop into major leaguers.

  2. Exclusive Nationals Season Plan Holder Presale
It's baaaaaaaack!!! That's right, the legendary HFStival is returning to DC for one day only this September. We're super stoked to announce a stacked lineup of HFStival favorites, like Garbage, Incubus, Bush, and Violent Femmes, and a few others who we always thought should've played the festival, like The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, and Jimmy Eat World. Other activities, vendors, and maybe even a few familiar faces/voices will round out a full day of alt-rock ridiculousness. Whether you're a veteran HFStival-goer or you've only heard the epic tales of the fabled fest, this is your chance to be a part of the concert event of the year at Nationals Park on September 21.

As a Nationals Season Plan Holder, we are excited to offer you the unique opportunity to purchase tickets before they are available to the general public.

    Presale Begins Today, June 11, 10:00 a.m.
    Presale Ends Tomorrow, June 12, 10:00 a.m.

IMPORTANT: To purchase tickets, please click on the Nationals Season Plan Holder Access "Buy Now" button and enter the password below to access this exclusive opportunity.

Dude I’ve been watching this **** on Korean TV and it’s incredible

That's great! They've really cut down on the ads too so it's not as bad as ESPN, which spent 15 minutes showing ads instead of analyzing the game during hafltime. Good to see you are also fed up and watching on SpoTV too!

Nobody is watching this Final and I think it's because Luka can't drive ratings like the other best players in the league because he's too much of an unlikable prick.  He somehow makes Kyrie Irving seem gracious and level headed.  But I don't really get why Tatum and Brown aren't drawing viewers.  Boston is a marquee franchise and Tatum has been on the cusp of top five player for years.  This is a legacy series for one of the players of the era.  Is it because the series is too much of a mismatch?

I think one of the big issues this final is that Boston got an easy path to the final and is pummeling Dallas. This series has not been competitive at all.

I will say I'm amazed a franchise as famed as Boston has only won one title since 1986. Not very Bostonny.

  4. Interesting that finals ratings have been bad since Jordan retired. NBC averaged nearly 28M in ratings during the Jordan finals. After that, the Finals average dipped to as low as 9M. They are about 12M now which is about half of what they were doing during Jordan's reign.

But tell me about how everyone watches online now.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- The Connecticut Sun trounced the Indiana Fever 89-72 on Monday, at one point leading by as many as 28 points and ultimately leaving Fever coach Christie Sides upset with her team's effort.

"I'm going to start with how you can't, at this level, coach effort," Sides said to begin her postgame news conference at Mohegan Sun Arena. "I felt like we were just trying to ask them to keep playing hard, play hard. You can't start there. You can't play in this league if you have to coach effort. It's just too hard."

  6. Been very busy out in DC and VA the last few days and ordering smoothies and teas at Wawa and Starbucks I notice these companies are starting to phase out straws. Then at the Nats game Friday I see the cups with the slot to drink through, they are phasing out straws too. I've seen some complaints on paper straws but eliminating plastic and paper straws just seems good to me.

Every post like halfway through it takes a 90* turn and I’m lost for a second then I look at the name of the poster again and it’s like oh, yup

Me watching the finals on ABC

  8. United Airlines passengers to see targeted ads on seat-back screens https://www.cbsnews.com/news/united-airlines-flying-privacy-customer-data-ads/

Marketing in the friendly skies is getting personal, with United Airlines now displaying targeted ads on seat-back screens as the carrier looks to cash in on customer data.

United passengers who toggle through the in-flight film and TV show options already see ads during programming. That includes a 30-second commercial that will now reflect the information United has compiled on individual travelers, like where they live and destinations they've traveled to.
