  1. I don’t get the Arya hate. People complained for several seasons how much time she wasted training to be an assassin. And now that there is some ultimate payoff to her massive sacrifice and immense screen time (and the only character in the show we see actually train for something outside of a 30 second clip) people lose their minds.

  2. There are some pretty definite statements in here about how the white walkers are now no longer relevant.

We still have 3 episodes to see how the main characters, background characters, and overall citizens of the North/Westeros deal with the aftermath...

are we sure theres no price to pay to pay for Cersei sitting this one out? We all seem to think she’ll get her ultimate justice soon.... maybe it’s Jamie/Tyrion; but maybe it’s also her constituents that she detonated that take turns stabbing her Jon snow style....

  3. I thought the absolute hellstorm of missiles was an incredible scene, didn't exactly see that coming. Usually they don't go the obvious 'blow it all up' route in scenarios like that, even though it's the obvious thing to do. (The fact that nobody died, though, was predictable)

The whole "we got this" #girlpower scene was so cringey. One of the few bad parts in what was an otherwise epic film.

All dudes say this, but my wife and every other girl I saw in the theater loved that moment... I think it's just something that we can't relate to. It's made for a wide audience, and a 10 second scene like that can have a massive effect on the perception of the marvel universe in the minds of casual fans like my wife and others.

  4. That’s what they said during the panel basically. They created new enemies called “Purge Troopers” that work alongside inquisitors that would stand up better in a fight with jedi. They also said regular storm troopers are expected to die in 1 good hit, and engagements with them are typically when there’s 10-12 in an area to make it challenging. But there aren’t a ton of those types of engagements either

Lots of Godfather talk on this board lately. I couldn't be happier.

All of this will end in 10 more years when Lebron continues devouring and spitting out franchises until he gets to a situation where he plays with his son. In the playoffs they will meet a team with a coaching staff that consists of David Blatt, Ty Lue, Luke Walton, and Ilgauskas. This team will destroy Lebron's team in the series and in the midst of a 30pt blowout loss in the closeout game,  Lebron's son will have a gruesome leg injury that ends his career. The TNT cameras fade to black as Lebron sits on the court holding his broken son in his arms, Lebron's painful screams for his fallen son are so loud and horrific that the audio is intentionally muted for television audiences.

    Live look at LeBron

    "
Washington, D.C. – Wizards guard John Wall will undergo surgery to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon. The procedure, which has yet to be scheduled, will be performed by Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay, WI. Wall is expected to return to full basketball activity in approximately 12 months from the time of the surgery.

Wall had developed an infection in the incision from initial surgery on Jan. 8 (a debridement and repair of a Haglund’s deformity and a chronic Achilles tendon injury in his left heel that was also performed by Dr. Anderson) and he suffered the rupture after slipping and falling in his home. The rupture was diagnosed by Wizards Director of Medical Services and Orthopedist Dr. Wiemi Douoguih during a procedure to clean out the infection.

Wall averaged 20.7 points, 8.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 32 games for the Wizards this season."

  7. Continuity in an offense for a young quarterback might be the most important thing for them. And if your OC made him that much more effective than the guy before... you need to keep that guy for your QB. Kitchens probably isn't the best HC fit for every team, but I think he's right for the Browns right now. In the NFL, you don't have time for a young QB to master yet another scheme, just in time for his contract to expire. You need to strike quickly.

He's also not a guy who was in football because his dad or uncle was a coach. He's self-made.

Good hire for the Browns, in my opinion.

  8. Idk about posturing, if it’s false it would basically be an outright lie; what team would want to work with Boras if he constantly did that?

i think it’s more likely they put out a good offer they knew would be ‘under-market-value’... signed a bunch of other guys with his money, and acted like they couldn’t spend more on him, so they could say they don’t ‘need’ him.

All the while knwoing they they would come back in with a stronger team, and be able to say, “hey we feel we’ve already got a great team with more weapons, and having you back would put us over the top, so we’re willing to up the offer to make it happen. Let’s win a championship”

that all plays way better than waiting to see if he’ll re-sign before doing anything else, keeping you hostage with the same team he was just on.

hopefully this is a master stroke by the FO; and I don’t sound like an idiot a week from now 😂

But Ernie Grunfeld can't accept that kind of return for the same reason Thibs couldn't take the Rockets deal for Butler.  Only a new GM can productively trade Wall.

Disagree. Ernie Grunfeld might be the only GM in the world with enough job security to actually see those picks through... even if they all turn into half season rentals of Bojan Bogdanivich's future children

Hey guys I was about to start a new thread

But I figured I would post it here and see if anyone could help me out

I'm currently writing a paper on the history of the Wizards logo and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get info on how to find who designed the different logos of the Wizards/Bullets ect

I'd reach out to anyone with "Marketing" in their headline under "Business Operations". This page below links to their emails. You could also try via linkedin, or by tweeting/DMing the Wizards or Monumental Sports social media accounts, as the people that run those are the same guys.

Lets be honest, Ben Solo was cool af until he took off his helmet and starting acting like a petulant child with his JP from Grandma’s Boy lookin ass.  Ben Solo is related to Lea, who was eye candy for the better part of two films and an unknowingly incestual for the rest.

Ben Solo can suck it.  This is the story of Rey and how she saves the galaxy, from something.  I guess.  I can’t even tell any more after episode 8.

That's the entire Skywalker lineage. Anakin, Luke, Ben... all 3 of them were whiny children. That's the family tree you're holding in such high regard.

Definitely lost some cool factor when he took the mask off, but I think he's done an excellent job expressing the conflict. Dude looks tormented with every decision he makes.

Because otherwise this trilogy is just some offshoot of the original 6.

Anakin started this whole thing and died at episode 6.  If this is separate from that then why not start a new Star Wars series?  Other than the obvious cash grab.

1-3 was the story of Anakin

4-6 was the story of Luke, his son

7-9 is the story of Rey, who isn’t related to the above at all????

Why does the protagonist have to be the relation, is this not even more so the story of Ben Solo? There’s your Skywalker lineage.

  13. 50 minutes ago, Springfield said:

The fact that it comes to light that Rey isn’t from ANY lineage is dumb.  Jedi FaceTime is dumb.  Episode 8 takes everything started with episode 7 and says “Go **** yourself”.

Now, they are giving this nudge his own trilogy.  What gives?

How can Disney do so well with Marvel but so poorly with Star Wars?

What lineage did Anakin Skywalker come from? His mother was a nobody, just like Rey's. I don't see a difference there. Also, Kylo could also be full of ****, and her parents actually are important. Easily could have told her what she wanted to hear to nudge her in the direction he wants.

Also 'Force-time' (TM) was dope. And if Snoke was the one controlling it, you won't have to see it again. But I think the scenes they had together in those moments were some of the most powerful in the film.

I liked VII and VIII (and Solo and Rogue One).

    There's, I said it.

I also liked SW Rebels, IV-VI, and largely disliked I-III.

Agree except I enjoyed most of III. I & II are hard to defend.

You guys are all nuts if you didn't like VIII
