This notion that because boundaries used to be X, they must go back to X, always amuses me.

World history is littered with boundaries changing. It’s the same nonsense Russia uses to justify why Ukraine should be theirs (as well as other Eastern European states)

It really depends based on what has transpired in any given region though. I know a family, whose parents were born in India and absolutely hated the fact that they had to move to the newly created Pakistan, leaving behind all their properties and belongings. They eventually came to America. But they both wished there was no Pakistan as there would have been no fighting over land control as Muslims and Hindus and Sikh all co-existed before the partition.

Russia has tried multiple time to take over countries to have more more access to the ocean and trade routes. They tried to do the same thing with Afghanistan.

Yes, enemies communicate all the time. What do you think the leaders of Hamas and Israel were doing in Egypt? They were both “lobbying” with each other over hostage deal.

Now, if your last sentence is saying Palestinians are incapable of forming a functional government, I agree with you. But that’s why there isn’t a viable two state solution.

"Lobbying" for hostage is far cry from landing a deal that involves controlling a piece of land and ruling it. Both sides are not going to go, okay you have this piece and I will have this piece. Other Muslim neighboring countries didn't want Israel to have control back in 1948 and that hasn't changed since and it never will no matter how you think these grown ass adults should behave while putting their religious beliefs aside.

In May 1948, less than a year after the Partition Plan for Palestine was introduced, Britain withdrew from Palestine and Israel declared itself an independent state, implying a willingness to implement the Partition Plan.

Almost immediately, neighboring Arab armies moved in to prevent the establishment of the Israeli state. The 1948 Arab-Israeli War that ensued involved Israel and five Arab nations—Transjordan (now Jordan), Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Lebanon. By the war's end in July 1949, Israel controlled more than two-thirds of the former British Mandate, while Jordan took control of the West Bank and Egypt took control of the Gaza Strip.

The 1948 conflict opened a new chapter in the struggle between Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs, which now became a regional contest involving nation-states and a tangle of diplomatic, political and economic interests.

What I meant was that I could swear that THIS ES page had the same tool-bar as the team page, and now it doesn't. Maybe I'm mistaken because I had many pages open leading up to and following the draft. Somebody let me know if I'm wrong about this and I will consider slowing down my gummy consumption, lol.

It still says Washington Football Team as the header, which leads to a dead page now, but the rest has stayed the same as far as I can remember. Then again I don't pay much attention to the header since it doesn't change and it is not the same header as the the team's page.

Effective government would have allowed them to lobby Israel, international organizations, regional allies in order to persuade Israel to head in the direction of a Palestinian state. But for sure, ....

:rofl89: No Muslim leader or government, functional or not, is not going to "lobby" their enemies to give the rights back to the land that belonged or has been ruled by the Arab Muslims for centuries. It didn't work in 1948 and is not going to work now. There is just too much animosity in that region for any "functional" government.

Up until a few weeks ago ES had the same header bar as the team site, with schedule, roster, news, video, etc. For some reason it's gone now. I wonder if it has anything to do with the front office and JW? I hate when updates to apps and websites move us backwards into the stone-age instead of making things easier.

Not sure where you were looking but this came out the same night the schedule was released on the Commanders website. It shows all 3 preseason games. I always look for this every year so I can make it as my laptop's background. Easy to refer to every week. 🙂

I would just like to see him develop a feel for sliding away from pressure within the pocket. Having him bail anytime there's pressure is a recipe for disaster (aka, broken leg).

show him tape of rg3, this is what happens when you don’t listen to your coaches and act like you’re invincible

When RG3 ran it wasn't he wasn't listening to the coaches. He just couldn't read defenses and relied on his legs instead because he was good at it. But on that particular play, he knew we needed the 1st down with the playoffs on the line. I don't blame RG3 here for trying to win the game that is what we want a QB to do. Sure he had no idea that Ngata was going to blindside him and  target his lower body instead. Ngata was a dirty player. He could have tackled RG3 above the knee instead of putting his helmet on his knee and a different future would have been written.

Daniels is a pocket passer and can read defenses unlike RG3. JD will be taught to protect himself in such cases when he has to run. RG3 hit was an anomaly and not the norm. Keep in mind that Brady got hurt with a lower body hit (which was deemed legal) while still in pocket. Again stuff like this happen. I am not going to stress about what can happen to JD5. Hopefully he stays healthy and injury free for the entire season. That is all one could ask for.

I figured as much, but I'd like to hear of hires (many hires, actually) to our scouting dept.

It's been one of the smallest and least resourced in the league. To me, that's a huge need and I'm hoping AP prioritizes it. The silence is worrisome.

IS this fast enough for you? 🤪

BTW, if anyone makes the statement "they should be x-number games better than last year because ...", the predicter should be spanked.  This is a major overhaul with now, basically, a completely different team.

Different yes. But the players they got this year means they want a winning season. JD5 gives you a faster start.

They better win more than last year though lol

Not sure they are very far off but I do like that they say playing the Giants early is going to be tough but them the Giants later are part of an easier stretch.

I have not gone game by game yet but I have them in the 7- 10 range. Too many pieces to come together for them to be a playoff team this year. WHat I hope and expect is a very slow start and then pick up steam as the season ends. Then next year after they fill a few more holes and the systems are in thier 2nd year then we have a chance to be a PO team.

It does all hinge on Jayden. Wishing him the best.

Slow start is expected and other teams will have to figure him out and try to defend a dual threat QB and we might win a few that we are not supposed to. That is what I am banking on. One thing that I didn't account for is how our D will play this year though. A lot of games we lost last year was because of our D.

  10. The draft is done. The schedule is out. So how many wins will this team have this year.

Let's see what Fox Sports says we will have as our record:

    Washington Commanders

    Final record prediction: 5-12

Welcome to the NFL, Jayden Daniels. For your first assignment, you get a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team coached by defensive whiz Todd Bowles that ranked seventh overall in defense and 10th in sacks. After that, you get to come home to face a Giants team that added stud pass-rusher Brian Burns in the offseason. And then you have to face the Bengals, Browns and Ravens in three of the next four weeks. Things will get a little easier after that. In late October, Daniels can take a deep breath with a three-game stretch against the Panthers, Bears and Giants. But there are really no easy games for a rookie quarterback and a rebuilding team. The Commanders are the homecoming game on every team's schedule, until Daniels proves he's the star the franchise thinks he's going to be. —Vacchiano

I highly doubt we will only win 5 games. I am going to go with, 9-8 and a wild-card spot. :)

@kleese I don't like your second Monday night game. I rather they play on the 27th instead, at home, which will be on my birthday and I will be more inclined to go to that one. :)

I just got home... long day... looked at the schedule and this makes me happy. Got my wish! Will be attending the Bears game at home on my Bday. :D
