Allen and Payne are top 10 in DT snap count every year and Phil has shown he can't be counted on.

I hope they dont posture for 10 minutes, They've been on the clock for 3 months.

If it's Daniels I hope he doesn't have RG3's ego, he's gotta be able to understand that if he doesn't evade hits he won't make it very long. With that being said I have to see him stay healthy before I can believe it's possible.

The league thinks Sam Howell is better than Justin Fields, I don't disagree with them.

I would love to move back into the first to get one of the stud tackles but it looks like it would cost us a 2nd and two 3rds.

The Wagner signing caught me off-guard, he's one hell of a placeholder. I liked Crowder last year, his legs looked fresh and still has good quickness.

This is an indictment on the previous staff, Peters is using free agency to build depth and obtain placeholders because the core group was so bad. Lots of 1 yr deals to give the FO flexibility down the road. The nice thing is for the most part we're getting solid players who aren't old and washed up on these short term deals.

I dont get the Kirk Cousins stuff. Why would we want him? This team probably two year from being a contender .We should just draft a QB.
I'll take the Kirk Cousins stuff over the Justin Fields stuff, at least Kirk can play QB.

Is Leeds the team Sasha Baron Cohen likes on the Ali G show and movie? Sounds familiar from his show!I haven't seen Ali G but he made a movie about Grimsby Town FC which is an English league 2 football club.

I dont trust any of these QB prospects, especially the kid from LSU who is built like Forbes.
I think we should sign Kirk, trade down a few picks to acquire more picks, and then use our 1st rounder to get a LT or Bowers
I heard an ex-GM say the other day that it's a lot easier to draft a QB when you dont need one. It makes sense, there's no reason we couldn't build a young team around a vet QB, we'll have 2 years to find a QB in the draft and let him learn behind a guy who's been doing it at a high level for years.
This is probably the most hated idea on the board but the amount of draft capital we will collect by trading down 4 or 5 slots I think could bring us a better haul in the long term.

Just now, mac8887 said:His arm is fine, Velocity was 61mph just 1mph behind Joe Milton, who’s known for his rocket arm. though I agree it wasn’t some awe inspiring performance, but neither was anyone else’s. His best throws today were the slant corner routs, the hardest throw at the combine and he nailed those. Like they said in the booth, only 3 of those were hit all year across the entire league, and he made those look pretty easy. He didn’t do anything to really boost his stock or lose stock either.
The velocity didn't bother me it was the accuracy.

On one of those throws someone was screaming bloody murder in the stands, that was on his worse throw
I feel like that deep out is a great barometer of a QB's arm, it separates the men from the boys and his deep out is terrible and that's with no pressure.

So it looks like we're using this year to clear bad debt, I didn't think we would cut Leno but I'm not against getting rid of all 3 linemen and starting fresh, lots of cap available so it's perfect timing. I'm guessing Wylie is on deck and once he's gone we will have eliminated the aging vets who are eating up cap space.

Peters was clear that he was setting expectations
This may be the year to remove bad debt from the balance sheet. Wylie, Gates, and Thomas account for $15M in dead cap, I dont see us cutting Leno because that's another $8.3M in dead money but it's doable without deferring.
We can absorb all of Ron's bad contracts and have a ton of available cap for next year. I do think the FO can be swayed by the right player and we have the means to absorb the bad debt and make a move or two. If we somehow come across a 25-27 yr old free agent who just hit his peak or is playing at a high level and has upside I could see them opening up the checkbook because it fits with the plan.

I like what Peters was selling on Grant's show. Be smart, this team isn't contending this year so signing high priced aged veterans makes no sense until the staff knows what we have and what we need. For those who think we're going to be aggressive in free agency and max out the cap space, it sounds like you might be disappointed.

talks about how Washington held Johnson in high regard and implies he was still the favorite before pulling out. And then goes on to say a job offer was made to Macdonald. Even going so far as stating that the Commanders thought they were going to get Macdonald. It's basically saying Quinn was option #3 once Johnson pulled out and Macdonald went to the Seattle Seahawks. That kind of sounds like settling, even if they really, really like Quinn.
It's not hard for me to believe Dan Quinn wasn't our first choice but it's also hard to believe Ben Johnson was our #1 target without having 1 in-person interview with him. What was it about Ben Johnson that made him so special the team supposedly forgot about every other candidate and only focused on him? Thats the part I have trouble believing but I wouldn't have trouble believing Macdonald was our first choice.

We could just draft Marvin Harrison Jr and then sign Kirk Cousins (ew did I just say that).
At least we'll know we have a nasty wide receiver crew and a consistent quarterback that will deliver to some extent and buy us another 3 years.

So many were dead set the team botched the hiring process but that SI article shows you how little we know about what goes on behind closed doors related to player or FO acquisitions.
It's a good lesson for those who tend to lose their minds before they have all the data.

Peters may be a good or great talent evaluator but he got burned on this coaching search and will learn a valuable lesson.
I do wonder if the rookie QB class had anything to do with the decisions by these young coordinators to stay put. If there was an Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning level talent do you think either one would be staying at their current teams?

I actually think Vrabel is an excellent HC. Doubts about how much power he got would crop up, right ?
I agree, I think he's a really good coach who's underrated. I've heard people mention that him and Belichick want a certain amount of power but I don't know if any of it's true.

Belichick and Vrabel should become relative now. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't talk to both of them. We can't have Quinn leveraging us for some ridiculous 6-year deal because he knows he's the only one left.

Just catching up and it looks like we're taking a beating. We might need Joe to come out of retirement for a third time. I don't know if this is anybody's fault but it is disappointing because you would like to hire the coach who is at the top of the list but not only did we not get that guy we also didn't get number two or three on that list. But who knows who was on Peter's list.

I don’t give a **** what they say. Your top dawg who you’ve vetted behind the scenes turns you down mid flight. Bad look for everyone involved.
And I can find videos (they are hard to find but they exist 😆) where Zorn is mic’d up and sounds like he knows what he’s doing. Coaching “highlight” videos don’t mean ****.
We've never heard the team say he was the top dog, I haven't even heard someone in the media back it up with "sources say".
I'm curious if he lead us to believe he was all in and then left us hanging, if that's the case we should toilet paper his house.

We should get Vrabel in here for an interview, if we're looking at Quinn why not interview Vrabel. He never had consistent QB play at TN and still made the AFC championship game.
