  1. i think Kimbo is in the same boat as Brock Lesnar. They don't have enough experience to be thrown in with a great figher (although lesnar is fighting a former champ in Mir), so they have to be given lower-tiered guys to start with.

I have no problem with Brock or Kimbo getting the lower levels guy to start their official careers with. You have to work you way up the ladder. Its not logical to think (not saying that you are) that they are ready to be in the cage with a great fighter at this point.

Brock has 2 years of kick boxing, and a whole lifetime of wrestling. Not only is he ready, you can just throw him in on a title shot. He's that strong.

Kimbo is SUPER tough, both mentally and physically. His stand up game is solid.

The ground game is another story for him.

Once he gets his ground game, and his stamina, he'll be a tough opponant to beat.

  2. Huh? Maybe a few years down the road, but do you really think he can beat Big Nog or Andre Arlovski? I don't think so.

What do you think he has been doing his whole life? Wrestling

    He is ready.

He is stronger than anyone in the UFC.

I would definitly build him up a bit with a few stepping stone fights.

Wait till someone gets the belt and then put lesnar in there for a title shot.

If it wasn't for lesnar the heavy wieght division would be ruined.

Even with him, it's still very very weak.

If I were rampage I would move up after beating Silva.

  4. 2007 has taught me to never assume anything in regards to an MMA match, that being said, i only give Franklin a slim puncher's chance to win this fight.

    Silva has way better stand-up

    Silva has better bjj

Silva proved he's just as, if not stronger than Franklin by dominating him the clench. Rich relies on the fact that he's a big MW in alot of his fights, if he can't over power people he's in trouble.

Franklin has good takedowns, but if Marquardt couldn't keep Silva on the ground, i really don't see Franklin being able too.

Franklin only has the slimmest of chances in this fight.

Silva is technical, but he lacks power in that division.

Franklin has a good chance against Silva, but Silva is probably a 2 to 1 favorite.

Silva was loosing his last match with Ludder(I think that was his name) when he busted out that submission triangle.

If Franklin doesn't get Silva here, then Henderson will be the one to do it.

  5. the same argument you made for Shogun can be made for Rich franklin when he fough Anderson Silva and lost the belt , the facts are , pride fighters so far aren't holding up to the UFC with the exception of 2 fighters thats it , and i agree shogun will be back but he better get in shape I have watched Pride and UFC a LONG time i have seen them all fight , and I'm surprised that Pride competition isn't holding up to the UFC , but the fact is that they simply aren't , although I agree about Fedor , I will wait and see before I buy the hype this time because the other hyped fighters blew it

*edit* Anderson Silva only ofught in Pride 5 times so he isn't really Pride , and Rampage is from here and no stranger to the UFC style either .. so our 2 UFC champs from Pride aren't completely Pride fighters like Cro Cop and Shogun and a few others who have not looked good , in time maybe they will but they have to get better

Rich didn't gas out from lack of training, he got tko'd, his face was smashed in.

    Big difference.

You have a lot of pride fighters who haven't fought yet, including the 2 most successfull.

  6. Rampage and Anderson look good no doubt , but who else from Pride ? UFc fighters dominate them .

If UFC can sign Fedor, he will be favored to take the heavy weight title.

Shogun was gassed in the first round, he didn't take this fight too seriously it looks like.

Usually he is the energizer bunny who never stops swinging, and the other guy runs out of gas.

Props to Forest for being ready and winning that fight.

Shogun is young he'll be back.

Don't knock the pride fighters, because honestly they saved the UFC from being a boring Chuck vs Tito 6 and boring repeat fights like that.

Pride EASILY took 2 of the 5 belts away with the only 2 title fights between the two organizations.

  7. 1. Chuck is 37 years old , a one dimensional fighter who has been exposed and near the end of his career , he did'nt do anything against Jardine except look for the KO and he lost a boring technical fight , he clearly lost but it was a horrible fight

    2. Jardine is still a mediocre fighter IMO , he wins he loses he wins he loses , not good for the sport

    3. Pride fighters are so overrated , they are out of shape and just can't hang with the UFC fighters and with the fights of Cro Cop and "the best fighter in the world" Shogun , it proves they aren't much compared to UFC fighters

    4. Tito Ortiz is my favorite fighter , and I think Tito has made a huge mistake going all hollywood with that hooker porn star slut Jenna , but if he can find some kind of hunger to fight again , then he can still be a force in the 205 pound weight class , I thought Tito would fade with all the talent coming from Pride , but Pride fighters are weak and out of shape , Chuck is about done , Tito already beat Forrest , so he can still be a force ...

    5. MMA has been crazy and totally unpredictable this year but I love it !

Pride fighters are not over rated, they took the middle and light heavy wieght titles already.

  8. Diego/Fitch is the only fight I'm interested in. The rest are worthless. Thanks for a great PPV Dana! And to think the last one was free, but this one is full price.

I was just looking over the card and I agree.

    I'll take diego, submission.

Interesting to know that Forest is the one that put his match up together.

This could be a bloody war.

  9. And the reason why Pride had the better fighters, is because they paid more.

A lot of those fighters started in UFC and moved over to Pride, and then moved back over to UFC.

UFC even sent it's best fighter over, and Dana White put something like 200k on him to win the Pride tourny.

We all know how that went, Chuck got PWND!!!!!!!

  10. That's a bold-ass prediciton dude. I see it going about the opposite, maybe not so early though.

With the two Crocop losses, I want to see more Pride fighters in action. A lot of people have been acting like Pride fighters are on a higher level than UFC fighters and we're going to find out whether that's true or not when we see Shogun fight and when we see Wandy fight (I realize he's on a losing streak but still).

Is it possible that we've somehow overrated Pride's talent? Just a question. Plus, we haven't seen Fedor fight over here yet so it's still hard to say. I think Randy vs. Fedor would come down to a decision.

Prides talent is solid, Crocop was one of the victims of injurys, he just never recovered from something in his foot, he had surgery on it.

In fact he didn't plan on coming over here, he was going to finish his contract in pride and retire, due to injury.

But he won that tourny, beating Josh Barnette and Wandy.

It shot his stock up too high to resist the big offer.

Fedor could have the same problem. He has, or had a nagging hand injury.

Fedor and Couture could be a good match, but if the top notch Fedor shows up, it won't be.

Fedor is stronger, bigger, has much much better striking ability, and both may be equally skilled on the ground.

Couture won't stand toe to toe with this guy, you can't trade punches with Fedor unless you hit like him, and Randy doesn't.

Couture will try to push him against the cage and put Fedor on his back.

But Fedor isn't going to fall for that trap over and over like Gonzoga did.

If that fight happens, and if both partys are healthy, Fedor dominates that match.

  11. Couture will have the boy ready. And Forrest is relentless in the pocket. I'm not going to make a case for my reasoning. It's a huge long shot. Why stop at calling for a decision when I'm already picking an upset of all upsets? Forrest by KO at 0:20 of round 1.

    This will never happen.

Forest is going to be too busy on the defensive side.
