It's even better than that 88Comrade2000!
The really big news that I learned today is that if the NFL owners actually vote to remove Dan and force a sale Dan has no legal recourse.
He can sue, of course, but as long as the NFL Executive Committee, Goodell and the owners, follow their bylaws the case will likely be summarily dismissed.
From the league bylaws signed by all owners as a condition of team ownership:
"The Executive Committee may impose such... discipline or punishment as it decides... Any such ruling or decision... SHALL BE FINAL, CONCLUSIVE, AND UNAPPEALABLE. Any party (ie Dan and Tanya Snyder)... AGREES TO RELEASE AND WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS... WHETHER FOR DAMAGES OR FOR ANY OTHER REMEDY OR RELIEF..."
The first step in this process is the commisioner ordering an investigation of the facts which is precisely what he did last week.
I think the NFL has finally made the calculation that keeping Dan in the long term is less palatable than enduring the short term pain of excising him from the league.
This is it guys. (fingers crossed)
While I understand what the bylaws say regarding appeal, damages, etc…. I have to go back to the Keim tweet about going scorched earth on the league. Rest assured this is not the only team with issues. Also the league. I’m not defending Danny boy by any means but the reality as an owner, he is privy to the league's practices and knows many of the secrets. Even if he can’t sue/appeal, the scorched earth option may do something even worse, force the league in to disclosure on its operations and dealings which may bring many things to light that the league and owners don’t want public. Combine that with the Ross/Flores situation it could get very ugly for the league. Danny is not interested in protecting the shield. If they take him out he is going to try to bring everyone down to his level of stupid and has a good chance of beating them with it (his stupidity) it all adds up to a major black eye for the league and more congressional investigations/oversight.
Either way makes for good drama. I just want the team to be good again!! -
Well at the end of the day this is all as bit odd.it is very similar to what I said many posts ago… “Dan gets the team because they don’t want to have other serious allegations come out about the rest of the league”. Hate to tell everyone, here come all sorts of things team related

I’m at the game . Two biggest things I have seen so far : tackling a little lax and not happy with the blocking. Not terrible but….
some other odds and ends but will reserve more until I watch replay

Say what you will…. At the end of the day the NFL won’t let this get more out of hand than it already is. Big black eye on the league and it opens up every other club up to investigations, on all sorts of matters and issues that I’m sure they don’t want to come to light.

While it might not be the best move it certainly isn’t bad. Needed a vet QB in the room with the two we have. Didn’t trade a bunch of picks away for a Darnold or other QB that could be a solution. That would have been bad. I think he’ll win some games and loss a few as well. But he brings leadership and some energy that’s young team needs to be successful. If the FO can get a few more guys on the offensive side of the ball for him to throw to and shore up the OL the win total could improve over last year.

I think the other thing that people lose sight of is that if a long term deal can’t be worked out and Scherff doesn’t sign the tag, it can still be rescinded. Let’s just get a deal done.

Something else to keep in mind .... IF a deal with Houston were to be done, they also now become a QB needy team. IF Alex is HEALTHY and wants to continue playing, he could also be part of that deal. He is a good QB and with health on his side he could have a couple years to help aid in the development of QB that Houston drafts.
Someone posted about patience will pay off here and I agree. Everyday that goes by in the standoff with Watson, the less Houston gets. If someone wants to throw the farm at them great. But with the no trade clause he can effectively punish them for as long as he likes. The key is to get him to want to come to WFT. If he doesn’t want to be here, doesn’t matter/mute point. -
If two1s are being floated it better be for Watson!!

good reads. Going to actually send these to some folks at work.
My general history and experience with McKinsey and the like has been that they talk about doing things they have never actually done or know about. All theory no real world data to back it up.
