Bates is gonna be a monster. He had similar numbers to Kittle at the combine. He's an amazing blocker and should be on the field every play. Soft hands. Smart enough to bail our clown QB out a lot last year. **** wasting money on Ertz
I like Bates, but this isn’t remotely true.
Kittle ran a 4.52, broad jumped 11’0”, and vertical jumped 35” (then jumped 38.5” at his Pro Day). Bates ran a 4.84, broad jumped 10’0”, and vertical jumped 31.5”.
Bates did better in the agility drills, which is something, I guess. But Kittle’s hallmarks are speed and explosion, and Bates isn’t in the same universe in those areas.
