What’s happening here? He knows that he underpaid. But he’s the one that agreed to the length of the Philly deal with the lower AAV and no opt outs. Does he expect them to tear up the contract and redo it? He’s playing for the only team and fan base he’s ever loved. How is this going to play with the Philly crowd?

MVP Sports Group absolutely smoked Boras in the way they handled Machado versus they way he handled Harper.

I think its as simple as he's beeing saying for years now he wants to play into his mid-40s, and he only ever wants to wear the phillies uniform.  So he wants to get the deal out of the way.  completely benefits him doing it now though....i'm sure Middleton will worry about that probably 2029ish.

    Not anymore.  Everything is digital.

Try SeatGeek or the team site, or the ES Classifieds.

    Face is $50.00

Team site directs you to seat geek (except the one link they haven't updated which goes to ticketmaster which doesn't sell anymore).  Seat Geek for week 1 regular season was $60, plus fees so it came to $71.  Which is nuts.  but it is what it is

no, democrats have not (to my knowledge, correct me if I’m wrong) talked about “replacing” white voters. They’ve talked about how over time they will become a lesser % of the population, because the other groups are growing faster. That’s not “replacing” anyone, it’s watching a pie get bigger and different sections grow at different rates.  I never said democrats said "replacing", I spoke about Democrats pointing to the fact that if certain demographics increase in the population, dem votes will grow.

only the republicans have talked about “replacement”. And there’s a reason they use that word. Because it implies TAKING something from white peoples and giving it to someone else. It implies GETTING RID OF white people, and REPLACING them with someone else.   So I said earlier (I think) if someone (IE Tucker) is stating great replacement theory, then he too is conflating the terrible, horrible theory with immigration and changing demographics in voting.

and the reason is obvious. Because it invites anger. Anger that goes well beyond political shifts.

and it allows them to incite that anger, while claiming they’re just talking about the demo shifts we’ve all been talking about for multiple decades now.

And it goes along with EVERYTHING ELSE they do to fan the flames of culture war.  Both sides fan the flames.  This shooter stated he hated fox, etc. and yet here we are people blaming what the shooter literally said was not the cause.  And then what do we have, all Republican's getting blasted, and if you dare say you are a republican then boom!   you are a part of the problem too, which has already been said here.

Ok so you're part of the "sure he said that, but he didn't really mean it that way" group, eh? People like you are the reason guys like Tucker can get away with spreading blatant white nationalist propaganda on the biggest stage in the nation. He's talked about it over and over again for years now; he literally says the word replacement over and over again...talk about a dog bullhorn.

If you don't clearly see what he's doing, then he's probably right about you...you're an easy mark.

Agree he's mentioned it, but Dems have also stated about how immigration will help them win elections.  So should outrage be equal to Tucker and to those who state that open immigration policies will help them (Dems) win elections?  And i 100% denounce your statement saying I am the reason....thats a grotesque statement on it's face.

I clearly see that he's using his forum to denounce illegal immigration, probably conflating grt itself.  Aside from conflating grt, if it's about illegal immigration, isn't that a political topic that can be discussed?

The garbage the guy spewed as the reason for his killing spree is absolutely 100% mainstream Republicanism nowadays. "Replacement theory" used to only be found on white nationalist and neo-nazi websites, but for years now it's been given full throated endorsement by plenty of mainstream Republicans, including Tucker and Ingraham.

Maybe you should watch the company you keep?

How so?  It is not.  In fact, the guy spewed statements that he basically thought fox news was trash, Ben Shapiro was trash, etc.

I'm no fan of Tucker - but to my knowledge what is going on (and what the media/dem side is doing) is conflating great replacement theory with those talking about the political shift, and political leanings of when people enter the country.  Both Dems and Rs have talked about that for decades, but what I see is the media having an opportunity to conflate that with the great replacement theory, and now everyone believes it.

If my thoughts are right, whenever you hear someone state (lets say Tucker) something to the effect of "Biden's open border policy will have a direct effect in Democrats having a chance at the polls this November", are you calling that grt?

This is the garbage spewn that is believed.  It is not mainstream republican, by any means.  We love dividing ourselves up so much - "trusted" sources like the Rolling stone spews this, then that becomes mainstream belief.  This is absolute disgusting and frankly lumping in general Republicans and voters of Rs, is horrific.

House is going to be a STUD. I am thinking someone like Josh Donaldson. JDLR has the athletic-toolsy-projection type, which is always 50-50. He needs to continue cutting down the Ks, but it looks promising. It's really unfair to label anyone Soto Jr., even Soto's eventual son.

    Oh completely is!!!!

Brady House: .326/.408/.449, still only 18, against pitchers 2-4 years older.

Jeremy De La Rosa: .298/.385/.488, 27% K rate (down from 34% last year) with a 12.5% BB rate.

For baseball card purposes was wondering how they were doing!  (For phillies fandom, I don't like the farm retooled LOLOL).  De La Rosa when I first got his card I immediately thought Soto Jr.  Far way to go for that though!

This is exactly why I have stopped commenting anything political here.  The moment I post a view that is opposite of the left, it's immediately like 8 people coming at me, inevitably someone saying i'm ignoring X, Y or Z, and dismissive of conversation.  Its like a lose lose situation LOL.

CDC guidelines are no unnecessary interactions with other people inside or outside.  And if necessary, even if they are outside, wear a mask.  They even suggest avoiding outside interactions with animals and if not possible wearing a mask.

Based on CDC guidelines, if you can jog somewhere there aren't other people or animals, I guess you'd be okay.

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/steps-when-sick.html

Not a doctor so take with a grain of salt: Especially with omicron even transient interactions seem to be spreading it.  Running pass or by other people could allow it to spread.  You are almost certainly still contagious.

Thanks for sharing!  yea, it's obviously super cautious to not go outside and yes, i would wear a mask.  But i'll do some exercise inside.  Maybe start up insanity again like I did over a decade ago 😂

I feel like people all around me are falling I’ll to non-Covid illnesses left and right. It’s like I’m dodging land mines.

I guess the only solace thus far, is that hospitalizations and deaths haven’t spiked yet although those are typically lagging numbers. We will see how we look in a couple weeks time.

I've noticed the same thing.  A lot of people who I know who've been hit since the omicron have next to no symptoms.  2 asymptomatic.  For a small-ish circle, it's a good portion.

I've also had 2 colds, 2 kids have had 4 each.  Wife got one of the colds.  (all negative tests).

Personally I'm so ready for this to become an endemic, and hopefully 2022 brings that.  give me my flu shot, covid shot, and if I get either - it's asymptomatic or the sniffles!
