  1. Great showing from the kids for the second straight week in just about the most inexperienced L'pool side I can remember culminating in Jerome Sinclair at 16 years and 6 days becoming the youngest player in L'pool's history. Awesome experience for that young man. I can only imagine the way he's buzzing around now. Some real good football, great commitment and a brilliant winning goal.

Nice draw at home against Swansea too that sets up a great chance of the quarters. Well done the youngsters. The more experience they get together, the better they'll get.

    Hail.

Gotta feel our future might be just a tad bit brighter after yesterday's showing. We got some talent in the pipeline, for sure.

  2. It could well get a lot worse with Sunderland and Utd the next two. It's not inconceivable to think it could well be 1/2 points out of 15.

But the key is not to panic. This is gona' be a long rebuild, and regardless of how bad it get's in parts before it gets better, we're tied to the manager for the long haul now and need to all be fully behind him.

    Hail..

Completely agree. Rodgers is the man, I have full faith. Just sad we'll be wasting away another year of Stevie's talent, and Carra is probably retiring soon too. Would have liked for those two to win the Prem League title together.

  3. Between following transfer deadline day and the Redskins making roster cuts to get to 53, I'm pretty much convinced I won't get anything productive done at work today :ols: .

  4. Now, back to the crazy last day of the window. Charlie Adam talking to Stoke. PLEASE let that go through. More deadwood departs.

    Hail.

Yup, this one's final for 4 mil. Dempsey has to be a lock at this point, right? Hearing Walcott staying in Arsenal and Sturridge only other legit possibility for LFC (other than Clint).

  5. Carroll's gone on loan to West Ham for the year. (Which is absolutely ridiculous to me.).

So I'd say Dempsey is a certainty tomorrow.

    Hail.

We can only hope, GHH. I'm really not ok with this free loan move. :(

  6. Can't believe that Liverpool - Man City game yesterday. Had them on the ropes and Skrtel gift-wraps a draw. Pretty solid effort by the Reds other than that though.

GHH - what do you think the odds are of a Dempsey transfer going through before the window closes?

  7. And here's hoping last season was a flash in the pan and he goes back to the injury prone, distinctly average goal scoring career that went before.

    Hail.

This times 100. I do NOT want to see RVP be successful at Man Utd.

"We're not racist, we just hate Blacks."

  8. I know I'm a couple days late, but just wanted to say I had an absolute blast at the Liverpool - Totenham game in Baltimore last weekend, despite the game itself being pretty dull.

Seeing Liverpool fans from all up and down the east coast flock to that city...man, it was awesome. I was part of the epic block party and march down to the stadium in full song. Such a great environment. I really hope I can make it to Anfield sometime soon and experience the real thing. YNWA

  9. GHH, thanks for posting the roster. I'll be at the game in Baltimore against the Spurs, really looking forward to it.

I hope they come to a quick resolution about Carroll. Loan him out somewhere for a year (Stoke or West Ham) and pay Fulham what they want for Dempsey.

  10. If it was a matter of talent, then OKC would keep Harden. The only SG's who had a better PER than Harden were Wade, Kobe and Ginobili. Now PER can be a useless stat for some positions, but it's a fairly good indicator for SG's.

James Harden is a TERRIFIC player. I'm going to be ecstatic if we trade for him and I'll likely revise my opinion of that horrendous Okafor and Ariza trade. This team badly needs a scorer and shooter like Harden.

That's true. I'm not sure what his actual stats were and I'm too lazy to look at the moment, but he seemed absolutely deadly from beyond the arc during the playoffs. I know he hit a couple cold streaks in the finals.

  11. *I forgot that OKC had the 28 in my original post...if we can get that as well, I'd REALLLLY like this trade. I mean, I already like it...but the #28 is icing on the cake.

Oooooh, I like the sound of that too! I like Crawford but he wouldn't see much time at the 2 with Harden/Ariza/if we draft another shooter. Would keep my hopes alive of the Wiz picking up Mike Scott late (right now I'm hoping we get him at 32).

    ---------- Post added June-28th-2012 at 11:34 AM ----------

Why wouldn't the Bobcats just outright make the trade with OKC themselves?

They probably don't want to trade down that far, or maybe their ownership isn't sold on Harden. I think he'd be more likely to sign an extension with us than them, based on our respective current rosters.

  12. From Chad Ford, via BF:

If possible and if the b-ball Gods are on our side, the Wizards will trade the #3/#32 with Charlotte for the #2. They would then trade the #2 (plus filler) to OKC for Harden.

This would be the absolute best-case scenario tonight, and one that would (and should) leave Wizards fans VERY happy.

In theory I like what you are saying, but I have the same concerns as Fight4RGIII - shouldn't we be suspicious if OKC would rather have Beal than Harden? Why not just take Beal ourselves?

If the motivation for trading Harden for Beal from OKC's end is purely financial, I suppose I can understand. I just don't get why we would want to trade Beal instead of taking him for ourselves if he's supposed to be better than Harden, talent-wise.

  13. My ideal draft would be TRob and Mike Scott in the 2nd round, but obviously I'm biased.

I like what Scott brings to the table, and he showed last year how much he can improve his range. I like him a lot as a 3, pending he can add an extra 2 ft to his range in order to consistently hit threes. His post-up game on smaller SFs in the league would be nasty. Defensively he can cover a 3 or a 4.

  14. Sigh, I just hope Liverpool has something better to show for the 100mil they spend last summer.

You and me both, friend. I think it's pretty vital they hang on to Suarez. Despite all of his off-the-field drama, he's only only consistent scoring threat other than Stevie.
