  1. Got into a Miles Davis ****es Brew tonight, easily one of the best Stouts I've ever tried outside of Bourbon County.

Got into a Miles Davis ****es Brew tonight, easily one of the best Stouts I've ever tried outside of Bourbon County.

  2. So who has tried Weyerbacher Insanity or Weyerbacher Blasphemy?

Insanity is a barley wine style ale aged in barrels and Blasphemy is a Quad that is aged in bourbon barrels , both are great winter sipping beers. I highly recommend checking one or both of them out.

  3. Having a beer tasting with some neighbors tonight, I'm bringing He-Brew Jewbilation 17 (Brwed with 17 malts, 17 hops and 17% abv) and Omnipollo Fatamorgana Imperial IPA which is suppose to be spectacular.

  4. I like it. It's a good, but not great, sour.  I usually prefer more of a sourness in a beer like that, but hey, different strokes. We even get it in our local grocery store which is awesome.

Speaking of sours, I had an amazing one the other night in Hill Farmstead's Phenomenology of Spirit.  Dark and roast with a fruity cherry aroma and significant tartness.  Incredibly good.

Man, I love sours, Tart of Darkness on tap was one of my favorites, La Folie by New Belgium is super yummy also.

  5. Don't do light anything. Here's my short-list:

Pliny the Elder/Red River Brewing Co.

Heineken Extra Cold Draught & Pliny the Elder are my 2 absolute favorites though.

So where do you live ?  And how often do you get your hands on Pliny the Elder?

  6. Had a 2 yeaf old bottle of Sam Adams Octoberfest last night. It definitely got worse with age. Do not recommend. I've aged Marzens in the past and they turned out real good. The Sam Adams was plasticy, lost its caramel and spice. Pretty bland, fresh was way more enjoyable.

Dude you age some odd beers, :ols: from what I have read, you shouldn't cellar anything less than 8% abv especially a beer like an IPA.

  7. had my first pumpkin beer (Blue Moon) ,not bad, I will have to try some of the other like Pumpking

Good luck finding Pumking, that stuff sold out a month ago.   I actually rank Schlafly Pumpkin ale right up there with Pumking, had a Greater Pumpkin brewed by heavy seas, which is a Bourbon Barrel aged Pumpkin ale and thought it was awesome.

  8. The Southern Tier Choklat is one of my favorite beers. That entire line of Imperial beers they have is incredible. Choklat, Creme Burlee, Oat Stout, Pumking, Un*Earthly...all A+ beers to me.

Chocklat was okay for me, I would have enjoyed it more if I shared it with someone, 22oz's more than i needed.

  9. For those of you with a sweet tooth, check out Southern Tier Creme Brulee, I didn't care for Choklat at all, but Creme Brulee was straight delicious, it's limited release and won't be around long.

  10. Had my 4 year old Flying Dog Raging ****. Absolutely incredible. I don't even want it fresh anymore, gotta age a 6 pack now. My DFH Midas Touch turns 4 in a few weeks.

A new version of The **** comes out tomorrow, i'm assuming it is Oaked or Bourbon Barreled, just my guess.

  11. I love me some Black IPA's, I've tried Daddys Little Helper and thought it was really good, my favorite black IPA is/was Stones Escondonian Black IPA. I've heard good things about RJ Rockers Black IPA.
