I'd venture at least a dozen ES regulars could have had better draft outcomes during Ron's entire tenure here.
Anybody with a dart board with Kiper's draft guide taped on it would have had better drafts.

I honestly believe Forbes is completely broken already. Last year really diminished his confidence and not even this coaching staff can help him get it back. He's toast.....
The last regime definitely stunted his growth (much like Ramsey) but I'm not ready to give up on him yet. I think competent coaching and defensive scheme will help.

We're stuck with it for awhile but it will change. The ownership has huge opportunity to gain fan support and a windfall of merchandise sale. Tie in some of the old history, let the fans interact and contribute and then announce the name and logo with the fans. Pretty much just do the opposite of what Snyder did and it's a can't miss.

I think Dotson just had a case of the Sophomore blues. He was solid in his rookie season. I would expect a nice jump in productivity from him this season.
I'm giving most everyone a pass for last year, especially Dotson. You don't from looking outstanding his rookie year to garbage in an offseason. The scheme was awful, the coaching was terrible, the O-line was a mess, I'll be shocked if he doesn't rebound.

Trading or acquiring a quality vet must still be on the offseason to do list IMO.
DId Pringle sign elsewhere? He wasn't great but had some size and came up with some clutch catches last year

Then he told you how he used to play with James. And Kareem. And pretended to throw a no-look pass.
Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!

Darrisaw would have solved the LT issue for a decade. Not an obscure player. An obvious pick. but leave it to Ron with his "outside the box" thinking of taking a WLB who most thought would go in the 2nd round instead.
If Ron had just gone with Mel Kiper's draft guide and taken the highest rated player with each pick, he might still be here.

"Once they put pads on we will find out" - DOC Walker quote on the radio today. Classic Doc.
There's only one way to find out if you got a cream puff or a cyborg werewolf, and that's to put the pads on.

Does that signing spell the end for Mathis? Ridgeway played over him anyway. Another wasted high draft pick for the Rivera regime.

Remember Reddick helped assemble the "Dream Team" in Philly.

Mayhew is still here and they replaced him. I think EB could end up the RB coach if he’s willing to take a demotion.I could see that. Probably not the best PR that one year with Washington takes a guy being touted as Head Coach material to the unemployment line. Even though I think he did a horrible job, I think they offer him some kind of role.

So maybe I missed this but what's going on with Bienemy? He hasn't been fired but they hired someone to take his position, seems odd?

Oof.
That's worrisome. The last thing I want to see is another RG3 who was willing to get pounded to the turf in an effort to gain an extra yard. I remember Gruden saying that was one of worst traits, thinking he could score a TD on every play.

I agree, he was asked to do way too much and couldn't have been put in a much worse position. Give him a good OC with a good O-line and then let's judge him more accurately.
How anybody thinks EB should be in contention for a head coaching job is laughable to me. We should have sent him packing w/ Ron.

I'd love Harbaugh. He can turn things around fast. It seems that Harris wants to emulate the Ravens, what better way than to hire their coach's brother? Plus the brother Beltway rivalry would add some buzz.

Shanny also had to deal with that Cap penalty as well. Do you remember some of those teams? Washed Larry Johnson at RB, Washed McNabb behind center, Washed Joey Galloway and undrafted Anthony Armstrong as our starting WR's. It was pretty bad.

Poor time management and timeout usage has been a trademark of the Rivera era. It's been awful since he got here. It's so frustrating to watch.

This is where a lot of GMs and NFL execs are coming in and saying that where Howell measures up vs this year's class. Someone brought up the bird in the hand argument which holds a lot of water and we have already seen what Howell can do. Kevin Sheehan has argued that this is the worse season in franchise history. But I contend with that because while we could easily have lost some games, but
- we could have just as easily won the Philly game if we went for 2;
- the Giants 1 game if Dotson makes that catch;
- The Seattle game if the def holds and win in OT;
- And the Giants 2 if not for that Holmes inteception by Howell and the Rodrigues fumble both when we were on drives deep in NY territory (at the 38 and 14 respectivey) and we win that game because we get 2 FGs and we are not trying to force that last pass for the pic 6 and we win 25-24.
We are a team that is led by a young QB and a first year offense. So everybody is undertain about where to go and things like spacing and routes and stuff like that. Still the offense if doing a LOT better than the defese. That's why I don't see why we need to act like Howell has been the problem this year. Yes he has made mistakes, but he has also kept us in a lot of games this year.
We could've easily lost every game we won as well.

Listened to the Finley podcast earlier and he mentioned a question he asked DQ about the player performance last year. DQ said he’s only looking forward and hasn’t looked at much at the tape. Finlay took that as veiled attempt to not bash Rivera’s staff but everything was such a $hit$how from coaching to scheme last year that it’s difficult to hold the players accountable and I totally agree.
