TheyAreBack
Good, the benching needed to happen, there was no upside in the weekly humiliations. I haven't given up on RG3. I just wasn't him to learn from a good QB coach how to be a NFL QB - someone, that does not exist on the Redskins staff today.
redflavor1
I think that it would be premature to release RG III just yet. As suggested, they should get a really good qb coach to really coach him up. I think he has some unseen potential.
Johns Bass
Hail & welcome redflavor1! I just don't believe that they have anyone that can get that potential outta RGIII in this organization nor will they be able to produce one considering their track record. It's one of the reasons why Gruden was brought in the first place - to get some improvement from Griffin. Next years option on him is like about $8 mil or so - and that's only for one extra year. Franchise QB's get more than a one year deal - that's for backup guys. I guarantee that Luck will get more than a one year deal when his turn comes up. Let someone else develop him. If he pans out - good for him. The Redskins obviously are not going to get much more out of him. Trade him before the draft. Maybe they get a decent pick in '15 with a conditional in '16. Go for a QB that can deal with a poor offensive line because that won't get fixed in a year. Of course, they could spend all of their resources on the line and completely ignore the secondary issues, which they have more than one. The Skins have more issues than they can make up for next year. It's time for some tuff love and do what is in the best interest of the team as a whole.
