  1. It's almost time for one of my favs to be released, Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale.
  2. Generally the crappier the beer, the colder you want it. The tastier beers only get better as they warm up a little.
  3. It's pretty good, along the same lines of the extra stout
  4. I agree on the Magic Hat Wacko Summer Seasonal, just horrible. I'm not a huge fan of Magic Hat in general. None of their beers stand out to me.
  5. Sam Adams has a killer cream stout you should check out, ASF
  6. Young's Double Chocolate Stout is tasty stuff.
  7. I actually prefer the can over the bottle with Guinness. Let us know what you think.
  8. Good question. The answer is... not much http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porter_(beer)) Porter is a dark-coloured style of beer. The history and development of stout and porter are intertwined.[1] The name was first used in the 18th century from its popularity with the street and river porters of London. It is generally brewed with dark malts. The name "stout" for a dark beer came about because a strong porter may be called "Extra Porter" or "Double Porter" or "Stout Porter". The term "Stout Porter" would later be shortened to just "Stout". For example, Guinness Extra Stout was originally called "Extra Superior Porter" and was only given the name Extra Stout in 1840.[2]
  9. Anyone else a big fan of Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale? I wish I had some right now. I've had a couple Smuttynose Robust Porters tonight and damn these things are tasty.
  10. All this beer talk I had to run out on my lunch break and pick up some good stuff. I always want to try new ones but I usually stick with what I know. Picked up some DFH 60 minute and Smuttynose Robust Porter.
  11. You could always cellar it for a while and see if it mellows out a bit.
  12. Anyone familiar with Ommegang? If you like quality Belgian style ales, I highly recommend these guys. It's a small brewery located in Cooperstown NY. I took a tour of the brewery a few weeks ago and they really make some nice brews. You can order directly from their site, check 'em out.
  13. I don't get any maple syrup taste from the 120. I've always described it has a sledgehammer of hops. It's definitely very boozy, a beer you really want to sip on for a while. My first time I made the mistake of drinking it down too quickly and I was hella buzzed.
  14. Yeah just one those and you're off to a good start to the night.
  15. One more recommendation since stouts are a fav of mine too: Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout. Soooo good. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/45/680
  16. It's seasonal, not sure if it's out now but if you can find it definitely give it a try. It's hops heaven.
  17. Smuttynose has an Imperial Stout that is very good. I also recommend their Robust Porter.
  18. I'd believe it. It's damn good. Ever try the 120 minute? That stuff will take you for a serious ride. 21% alcohol per bottle.
