mcarey032
I may have to hit this up. I think that it would be cool to meet Daryl Grant. Just wish that the place were a little closer to my house.

Dude Fredericksburg isn't THAT far from Arlington unless there is a accident on 95S
Slingin33
Yea, if there is an accident on 95 you would be better off flying to Florida than driving to Fredericksburg. Think of it as part of the fun of the day.
mcarey032
Well, I could always go to the Hardees.
Slingin33
Are you insulting my town? You think just because we are in the "sticks" the best food is Hardees?
mcarey032
Not insulting your town at all. I love Fredricksburg. One of my favorite battles of the civil war. Also I happen to love Hardees. It is good food. We don't have them too much up this way. We used to have a Roy Rogers here in Arlington, but they went out of business. The closest Roy Rogers to me now is in Springfield and that sort of defeats the purpose of fast food. When I was in high school, Hardees used to have 4 burgers for a $1.00. I used to eat like 12 of those bad boys back in high school and not gain a pound. Now if I even looked at them I would gain 15 lbs. They have some of the best burgers around. I just noted Hardees because it was in the same parking lot as the Card Cellar.
Slingin33
I wasn't offended, I was joking. We used to have Roy Rogers here in Fred, but the owner sold the stores back to Hardee's when the companies merged. Gotta love that fixin's bar. Now, I think the nearest Roy Rogers to us is near Fort Belvior.

mcarey032
Whenever I am in Kingstowne(Springfield) it is a mandatory stop for me to go there.
Slingin33
Is the one on Route 1 just North of Fort Belvoir still there? Now we need to tell the Card Cellar that if they want to have a true appreciation event, they need to have Roy Rogers deliver.

They should do Roy's burgers with Hardee's curley fries. Best combo! Not sure about the one on Route 1? It might be? http://www.royrogersrestaurants.com/
mcarey032
From what I could tell, it wasn't on the website. There was one on Richmond HWY. I don't know if that helped you or not?
Slingin33
At my ripe age of 101, I am lucky to make it to the bathroom. I don't know that I will ever get to enjoy the pleasure of a Roy Rogers burger. Just consider how hard those things are to eat with full dentures. mcarey032
you could always have them blended. Are you going to the CSA show coming up?
Slingin33
If I lived local, I would drop by at the end of the show to see if I could get bargins. There really isn't anyone who is going to be there, that makes it worth me driving up. It might be tough for them, but for the most part it is the same autograph guests they always have. I also really don't do much on most current players. They are so expensive and you never know what is going to happen with them. Can you say Ramsey, Vick, etc, etc, etc.
washogskinz
12,000 Yankees can't be wrong. Fredericksburg is to die for. But seriously, I can't hear the name Darryl Grant without suppressing a smile and thinking about the '83 "paloff" game against the Cowboys where a Hogeboom pass was tipped into his hands and he rumbled in for the TD. I have seen Earl Campbell there at least 3-4 times and I have only been going to this show for about a year now. They should try and diversify. I know that they got a lot of current Steelers players to come here and DeAngelo Williams as well. They have had some bargains. I got some at the PSgamegear table when they are there. I think that generally the autographs on the last day are generally priced to move, for the most part.
Slingin33
At $40 for both Sellers and Davis, I doubt the price will go down much after they retire. I may go for Sellers. Depends on what my wife comes up with for me to do.
