  1. So we are basically going to give 2 3rd round picks and about $27M away for a 6 game sample of Wentz? Doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do, why not give him another game or 2 to see what he can do with an improved defense, run game and healthy WR's? Why are people so quick to get rid of players after such small sample sizes of games? This season is pretty much a bust right now lets see what we have with Wentz or Howell.

  2. If you have no intention of starting Wentz again then there's really only one option, start Howell the rest of the season and let him sink or swim. If he sinks you obviously are looking to somehow draft a top QB next season. If he swims you have some options to upgrade the team around him.

I'd personally start Wentz as soon as he's healthy enough and see if they can somehow make the PO's. If he stinks and they are out of contention switch to Howell at that point.

  3. Ron is absolutely wrong on his QB answer IMO. He should have said Oline, you win FB in the trenches and if you don't have solid oline or dline play you are not goin to win many games. I mean look at every good team right now and they are getting solid play in the trenches. Look at Mahomes when he doesn't have solid oline play he looks pretty mediocre as well.

  4. Carson has to make a better decision on that last play, gotta throw it away and hope for a better option on 4th down. Other than that int I thought he played pretty good given all the issues with the snaps and penalties. I don't think Turner's doing him any favors with some of the calls. Carson's still plenty mobile enough to roll him out and give him a run option.

They gotta get the penalties and awful snaps cleaned up, it's 5 games in they should have that stuff fixed by now!

In this draft if it lives to its hype you might not need a top 3 pick.

Lol that's about the worst highlight I've ever seen for a QB. I mean great run but everything up to that point was purely awful QB play. Stood flat footed, stared down his first read, did not see the open receiver and almost got sacked. Good lord if that's the next great NFL QB prospect the NFL's in trouble!

Makes me think maybe it's not the players communication issue but are the coaches by unit communicating?

Am I the only one who never remembered the whole "Carson being Carson" narrative before he played in Indy?  I don't ever remember him as being seen as some reckless gunslinger like Rex Grossman before.  His 2020 season was rough, but that was an outlier year.

You're right that was started in Indy. 2020 was a horrible season for Carson but that was due to many factors that have been discussed at nauseum. People have short memories and seem to go with the most recent trend.
