Hank Fraley went to Gaithersburg HS. Nothing good ever came out of there....

Hey now! I teach there and the kids are great! In all seriousness, I’ve spoken to my buddy who grew up with Hank (he said he was texting with him so I’d assume they are close still) and my buddy confirmed Hank thinks he has a shot to follow Ben Johnson as his OC wherever he goes. Basically he said his offense is so dependent on the OL with the run designs and everything. That being said, Hank did say that Ben has NOT said anything to him behind closed doors, or atleast if they did Hank is telling his friends.

  2.  I’ll read all these comments, watch the cutups, and will probably have an opinion but I can honestly say for the first time my life, whoever our GM decides is best, I trust that decision and will acknowledge he knows best. No more head scratching and second guessing.

  3. “TRUST THE PROCESS”

We’ll tank this year, get as good of of a pick as we can, hire a REAL GM, and let him hire his HC ….. and I for one am so excited to have this structure.

Everyone calling for Ron to be fired now - why? There’s absolutely no reason other than emotional feelings. If we hire someone else mid year, and improve, we get a worse pick and still dont make the playoffs.

    Few reasons:

    1. He's old. He'll be almost 60. No more boomer dinosaurs people.

    2. He's been out of the NFL for a while. I know he was successful with the 9ers, but the league has changed a ton and he hasn't coached in the league in, what, ten years?

    3. He's not easy to get along with. The best teams have a solid GM/HC relationship. He's always at odds with his bosses, which means he may even want total control which is a HARD pass.

    4. He burns out quick. He's been at Michigan a while but before that he didn't last that long with the 9ers or Stanford. I want a coach who can be here for a decade+.

    5. He's not an offensive guy. I know he played QB but his teams, at least in the NFL, were more defensive oriented. I want a bright young offensive mind that can maximize Howell and our weapons and can give us a gameday edge with strategy in playcalling.

All fair points - I completely agree FYI about the GM/HC relationship and like I said, my #1 is having a GM who makes all decisions. If Harbaugh is not on board with that - then on to the next candidate!

Nope to Harbaugh......Hard pass on that.

Would love to hear your why? He took over a horrendous NFL team, went to the Super Bowl and won 3(?) Divisional titles. Left, went to College and turned Michigan around. Maybe its just his demeanor that rubs you wrong way, which is fair but football wise I think he's the closest to a slam dunk there is. IMO

  6. I'm all in on Harbaugh - just don't know if he would take the job without complete control of personnel. As bad as I want Harbaugh, I want a GM to run the show even more and if Harbaugh is not on board with that, then move on to the next name on the list! Ben Johnson is another name being thrown around alot on here. Don't know much about him, but my buddy who's a Lions fan says he is the best thing that's happened to Detroit in a while.

  7. Just give me Watson. I’m tired of hearing about the culture and how we need to fix it. We’ve had good guys in here the last 2 years, and no one comes to games and our play has been sub par.

The only way to fix the dwindling fan base and attendance issues is winning   The way to win is to get a qb. If he’s not a great, standup guy well……oh well. Just my opinion!

  8. I don't see enough of a drop off from Brandon to Schweitzer to warrant the coin that it will take to resign him long term. Brandon is also about to be on the wrong side of 30 soon, and if he has missed this many games in his 20's, I would argue he wont be missing LESS games in his 30's.

I'd let him walk, extend Terry and do whatever on Gods green earth that you have to to land Bobby Wagner. Outside of QB, I don't think there is a player who would have a larger impact on our team than Wagner.
