I agreed with everything you said up to this.

They need a class for how to deal with us, that's why this is happening.

How many people in this thread got the "how to be act around cops to stay alive" speech? I know I did, that's doesn't seem to be working.

    13. My parents grew up in the South in North Carolina during Civil Rights movement. Wasn't uncommon to see KKK stuff, Confederate stuff, towns were segregated and still are in spirit in places like Fayetteville. My grandpa was a mail carrier in WW2 because he wasn't allowed to integrate with the other soldiers. Both sets of my grandparents are among some of the first black teachers and doctors in that state. My aunt is a pediatrician. My uncle is a HUD judge. Lookin at me a white person probably wouldn't know I come from a very affluent black family, because when you are a ""n-word"" it supersedes everything.  I got the talk and I hated it when I was young because I was a suburbs boy. I knew but I didn't really "Know," you know what I'm saying? It's that bubble that I had to have busted by the world. So yeah, I've been profiled, I've had bananas put on my car for dating a white women, I've been followed for miles by police for an air freshener,  I've been followed and harassed in stores and branded a thief just because I had a hoodie on and my hands in my pockets, I been called a "n-word", and I've seen other people in my family called "n-word" and I've had swastikas drawn at my place of work years ago. Are you young? We know the rules of the road as young black men, if we didn't we wouldn't be here today. We'd be another Trayvon or Castile or Floyd. I aint understand as a young kid because all my white friends and neighbors and books growing up taught me that 5-0 were here to protect us from the bad guys. But you find out that you are that bad guy because of your skin color. And if you aint bad you are one of the good ones

  2. I need help. I applied for relief via the nonfilers irs site since I did not file in 2019. Everything went through alright but I believe I sent them my wired routing number instead of paper and electronic so I was supposed to already have my stuff but after talking to my bank I think the check went back to them. I am really stressed out about all this because I can't find a good number to contact IRS with. Is there a special corona hotline number anyone can give me so I can find out how to get my money? Please, and tyvm

  3. I dont post much, but I do want to speak on last night. Look man I am from PG County. I an very familiar with a lot of African dudes faking like they hard, and because many of us over here in the states are ignorant, we believe them. They are nothing but rich boys here for an education. The ones that are not rich, are no different than your average dude on the streets which means they cannot fight. Seen them pull that stuff where I went to middle school and high school in Laurel where it is real diverse and full of African folk, and where I grew up in Upper Marlboro. I will say they are a prideful bunch and know who they are and where they came from, and as a black man in America I admire that because a lot of us are lost but it makes me upset seeing many of them fake like they hard. They not, and it shows. I like Embiid, but I wish he would just play basketball.  Stop frontin.

  4. Nothing to do with the SC body slam.....

But sometimes I have to remove myself from "police going too far" conversations because I have to remember that we're not all on the same playing field

When I see people support the police after questionable tactics were used (and btw, I'm not an "angry black man" that hates LEOs), it reminds me of the world that we live in.

I have to remember that not everybody knows what it's like to be harassed by police and have NEVER, EVER been,in a situa4where they had to be humiliated and had their cars searched by DEA dogs when they've done nothing wrong.

I'm a broken record, I know. But normally, I HATE when black people play the race card, its such a cop out. But I've typed out many of my stories about negative experiences with police before, none of which I even received a ticket, I need to remember that many folks don't know what it's like to have a police officer tell you to "show your hands" and be asked "is there anything in the car I should know about?" When you're simply driving home after a movie.

I'm a US Military veteran, I'm married, I work for the federal govt, I'm a home owner, I pay my taxes, etc, etc. Point is, I consider myself a good citizen. Yet I'm terrified....TERRIFIED of police. That's not how it should be....

    **** this

I am to. Just this past summer I was trailed coming from the grocery store for little over a half mile by a cop, who then said he stopped me because I had a air freshener hanging from my rear view. Gotta make sure to tell him I am slowly reaching for my drivers license and registration, so I don't make him uneasy. Then he ask me all sorts of questions about what I am doing in Rockville, and where I am headed because my drivers license says Upper Marlboro. I was picking up medicine and dinner for my sick father, going home. Then he asks me if I have drugs or anything else on me that he should know about, and I just tried my best to be courteous and respectful but had lost it inside. He let me go, and I went home angry, thankful I didn't give him a piece of my mind enough for maybe a forearm . Been several more instances like that. I am not one to play the race card either, but that is the world we still live in. Nowadays, I am nervous when cops are behind me, even though I have no reason to be, and I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.

  5. Yeah, truce. Truces all around please.

Also, I know my request is meaningless, but can there be no bannings from these last few pages of misbehavior? We're all good posters in the other threads. Can we all just agree some of us were being dumb (I include myself) and that we don't want anyone banned and we'll get the thread back to civil? For those I've offended, I apologize. And there are no hard feelings whatsoever on my end with anyone.

This is one of my favorite threads. It gets rowdy no doubt, kind of a locker room atmosphere. But it's going to get shut down if we don't behave.

Thank you. Thank you all for your understanding. Marco has been banned. Whether permanent or temporary I do not know. But it is better for him this way, to focus on other things. I cleared everything with the person named Hersh, so it appears that everything is okay on his end as well, and he won't pursue this further. Marco is a very passionate person, but it tends to get the better of him if left unchecked. Life has not been kind to him recently, but that is no excuse for his behavior here, and he understands that. Again, thank you all for your cooperation.

  6. I want to apologize for the actions of my friend Marco, or MrSinister. He and I live together with his brother. I try to look after him as best I can. He has been dealing with some personal issues off and on for the better part of a year now. I dont spend much time on here but i wanted whoever knows him here to know that death threats is not who he is. I try to encourage him to stay off of the internet, because it isn't good for his temperament. I decided to report him to save him from himself. I just want to apologize on his behalf for anyone he may have offended, and urge them to not contact law enforcement or anything of that specific nature. I just talked with him, and we both agreed that it is time to move on. He is very sorry for what happened.
