  1. I hate the term "if it ain't broke don't fix it" especially when referring to sports uniforms with longevity.

Well to be honest, the look is kinda "broken" if you want to put it that way. We started wearing the current version of the Redskins uniform in 1979. From that point until the last time they won the Super Bowl, their record was 131-77 and a winning percentage of .629. Since the 1992 season, they've had a 138-198 record and a winning percentage of .410. I dunno about you, sounds like they're pretty "broken."

IMO, RG3 and this new team bring new life to our uniforms. I'm only a few years older than you and I love our current uni's. Change for the sake of change is just dumb and you walk down a dangerous path. (see: Dolphins new uniforms/logo)

Plus lets face it, younger fans need a uniform to call their own and to remember the Griffin era with. All you older fans have had multiple uniforms to witness, time to pass the baton. And no this does not mean bring back another throwback, lets create new traditions with new uniforms.

Nah, I really don't. Not at the expense of my team looking like they belong in an arena league. Which is the way uniforms are headed these days.

If you want to bring the red sox into the conversation, they've introduced a red jersey, a blue jersey, and changed their road jerseys in recent years. So even one of sports most historic franchises have changed their uniforms to some extent.

Here I can kind of agree. The Red Sox wear that blue jersey only on Fridays and only on the road (Red on Fridays at home). The new road uniform, introduced in 2009, was an upgrade and it was actully a nod to the old road uniforms they used to wear. The main difference being that they put names on the back and the Sox logo on the sleeve. Otherwise, the Boston Red Sox have stayed true to their roots, as the Redskins should.

  2. Hi Everyone! I've enjoyed looking through each of your collections and figured I'd introduce myself. I'm a lifelong Skins fan. I've been collecting for close to five years now. I'll try to post more of my items in time; however I wanted to share my first pickup of 2013. Here is a 1987 Charles Mann road jersey with a ton of use and team repairs. The jersey has been photo matched. I'm incredibly excited with the purchase and owe a great deal of gratitude to the seller. Cheers!

Charles Mann has a signing coming up in March. You need to get that puppy signed!

  3. I love the B3 lot....Its never too crowded and it never takes long to get out...I think its ideal for anyone in section 118 to 104 and the 200 level. Im in section 111 and I got a 3 min. walk to the stadium and after the game im in my car driving before most ppl even get to theirs. I dont know how you would be if your in the 300 level or the upper deck because walking down the ramps takes time and by then most ppl are out already so traffic might be bad.

Yeah I'm section 135 so right where the Extremeskins tailgate or thereabouts at least is pretty good..

I'd heard good things about the B3 lot, that might change with the influx of new people. You'll know after the home opener.

Yeah true. And B3 passes are widely available so people are going to be buying those up.

  4. It's been around forever. It has been very underutilized by fans. I believe they used it for some employee parking over the past year or two. This year, they tried to move all fans from the gray lot to Green B3 and are reportedly moving employees to the gray lot. Although, a couple STHs reported they were able to call the TO and convince them to let them stay in the gray lot.

The biggest problem with the B3 lot is that you can ONLY park in Green B3. You will not be allowed to park in just any Green lot. But anyone with a Green parking pass can park in B3. Lots of space for tailgating. You would leave via Morgan Blvd which is the least used entry/exit to FedEx Field.

Good info thanks! I've never even noticed the lot before.

  5. Got an email from the TO for the Colts preseason game. Lower level seating with Green B3 parking available now. Makes me wonder if Green B3 parking will be available on a single game basis all year.

Is B3 new for this year? I've never seen this lot before and it seems very undesireable. Anyone got any background information?

  6. Rant (sorry if this has been covered):

This isn't particular to just the Skins jerseys (just those teams with numbers on the shoulders -- e.g. note that the Bills only have stripes sans numbers), why does Nike insist on jamming the logo in so close:

    http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/images/photos/001/833/917/hi-res-hi-res-150077552_crop_exact.jpg?w=650&h=440&q=75

Why don't they just turn the entire jersey into one big swoosh and get it over with?

Reebok had their logo in the same exact location. These companies pay a fortune to have the rights to the jerseys. Football is a business first and foremost.

  7. It's just clearly not burgundy and gold. It's ketchup and mustard and it bugs me. 49ers have gold, why can't we? Tone the red down to what burgundy should look like, and we're set.

The 49er's gold is too dark. Maybe a happy medium of sorts?

Just a shade darker for both colors would do it for me, but I was pretty happy with the way Rak looked today. RG3 is gonna like sick in these uni's.

  8. Alright so today's the day!

$1,963.00 for two tickets UL sideline rows 1-15. I also get VT Hokies tickets as well, however I heard some fans got screwed with the whole event ticket giveaway last year.

If there's a year where I can afford to do this, it would be this one. I just hope that I'll be able to sell some of these as well, with the knowledge that I'm definitely eating the preseason tickets because I'll still be living in Louisiana at that time.

I'm so nervous! I love the Redskins but at the same time having seats that far up at FedEx Field with a poor product on the field seems daunting to me. Anyone want to try and talk me out of it? Lol

  9. Beware that you will likely need to put down a $50 nonrefundable processing fee per seat just to find out where the seats would be. This is what happened to my brother a couple of years ago and he ended up declining the offer.

Thanks for the tip! I could use all the advice I can get. I want to make sure I'm running that phone conversation on Monday haha.

  10. Coming from Richmond I don't make it to that many games due to the drive. I usually go to 2-3 of the less desirable games (Rams, Cards, etc.) and sell off the more desirable games like Cowboys to maximize my resale value. It works out for me that way.

Are you having a difficult time selling those games in recent years? I would probably do something similar to this and go to the more desireable games in my shared seats in section 135. Thanks to you both for all of your input, I want to make my decision on Monday and hopefully rows 1-15 are still open, as advertized, because they don't sound too bad at all.

  11. I have always shared season tickets but it was never under my name. This year I think I'm going to get my own account. I mainly want to do this so I can start to work my way up every year until I'm at or around where I usually sit now. Does anyone have any advice to share with me? Is this a good reason to buy tickets or should I just save myself the time and money and stick with the good deal I have now?

Right now I have access to section 135 row 6, 2 seats. I love the seats and the season ticket holder lets me pick and choose what games I want to go to, with exceptions for games that they might want to attend. BTW, can seats that low be transferred to someone or do they go back into circulation once that season ticket holder no longer wants them?

    Thanks for the help!

  12. I am not sure you understand the difference between the Yankees, Cowboys, Packers, and Redskins. We have had 3 or so major branding changes. We had a feather on the top of the helmet, we had the spear, we had the "R", and now we have the Indian head. I don't think stepping back to our past and rebranding a spear helmet uniform would be the same thing as the Yankees or Packers changing things up for the first time.

I love the current logo for nostalgic reasons. I watched 4 Super Bowls and 3 championships while our team wore these helmets, but I think it is OK to move forward. It won't change history and these unis can rest in the peace with the era during which they DID mean something and represent a winning tradition.

All teams have had branding changes over their history. But, the for the majority of the Redskins history, we have seen the Indian head logo. There's nothing wrong with it. I really hope it doesn't get changed.
