  1. So because you posted the judging parameters, you're right and Planet Earth is wrong?   :)

No, my point is that no one will ever get it right 100% unless the obvious happens (TKO,KO,Sub) its all in how the rules are interpreted by 3 point of veiws it could have been 5-0 Hendricks but one of the judges could have seen it as 4-1  but no one would question it because it was obvious

  2. You know they tell every one the rules before every event wihch is understandable getting old but understandable here it is on the UFC Home page

    1. The 10-Point Must System will be the standard system of scoring a bout. Under the 10-Point Must Scoring System, 10 points must be awarded to the winner of the round and 9 points or less must be awarded to the loser, except for a rare even round, which is scored (10-10).
    2. Judges shall evaluate mixed martial arts techniques, such as effective striking, effective grappling, control of the ring/fighting area, effective aggressiveness and defense.
    3. Evaluations shall be made in the order in which the techniques appear in © above, giving the most weight in scoring to effective striking, effective grappling, control of the fighting area and effective aggressiveness and defense.
    4. Effective striking is judged by determining the total number of legal strikes landed by a contestant.
    5. Effective grappling is judged by considering the amount of successful executions of a legal takedown and reversals. Examples of factors to consider are take downs from standing position to mount position, passing the guard to mount position, and bottom position fighters using an active threatening guard.
    6. Fighting area control is judged by determining who is dictating the pace, location and position of the bout. Examples of factors to consider are countering a grappler's attempt at takedown by remaining standing and legally striking, taking down an opponent to force a ground fight, creating threatening submission attempts, passing the guard to achieve mount, and creating striking opportunities.
    7. Effective aggressiveness means moving forward and landing a legal strike.
    8. Effective defense means avoiding being struck, taken down or reversed while countering with offensive attacks.
    9. The following objective scoring criteria shall be utilized by the judges when scoring a round:
      1. a round is to be scored as a 10-10 round when both contestants appear to be fighting evenly and neither contestant shows clear dominance in a round;
      2. a round is to be scored as a 10-9 round when a contestant wins by a close margin, landing the greater number of effective legal strikes, grappling and other maneuvers;
      3. a round is to be scored as a 10-8 round when a contestant overwhelmingly dominates by striking or grappling in a round.
      4. a round is to be scored as a 10-7 round when a contestant totally dominates by striking or grappling in a round.
    10. Judges shall use a sliding scale and recognize the length of time the fighters are either standing or on the ground, as follows:
      1. if the mixed martial artists spent a majority of a round on the canvas, then:
        1. Effective grappling is weighed first; and
        2. Effective striking is then weighed
      2. If the mixed martial artists spent a majority of a round standing, then:
        1. Effective striking is weighed first; and
        2. Effective grappling is then weighed
      3. A round is to be scored as a 10-8 round when a contestant overwhelmingly dominates by striking or grappling in a round.

If a round ends with a relatively even amount of standing and canvas fighting, striking and grappling are weighed equally.

Now with that being said following the rules which some people throw out the window

I gave Hendricks rds 1 and 3 and GSP 2,4,5 and totally disagree with everyone on all the websites everywhere even disagree with the judges and how they scored it And really don't be believe in a champions' advantage

  3. You nailed it. The judges got it wrong but you got them right.   :)

You just have to K GSP TFO or you're not getting the belt. He's too holy to the UFC.

Yeah judges are funny when Rogan said Hendricks won I went the other way Rogan is an idoit

And GSP is kinda done ???? i dont know lol maybe maybe not

  4. So flippin' amped.

    Hendricks via 2nd round TKO.

    Evans via Decision

    Lawler via 1st round TKO.

    Koscheck via Decision

If there are any Canadians reading the board, sorry about my upset picks. Not wildly confident in them anyway, but I gotta believe! Those two winning would spice that division to infinity and beyond.

WOW man Im not Canadian but few of these out there but just for the fun it here is mine, and those picks would really make it more interesting in that division

GSP via lay and prey for 5 rds

    Sonnen via dec

    Mcdonald via 3rd TKO

Woodley via 2rd TKO but i can see this going to a dec

  5. What a joke if this is true, it is JDS's fault for not saying anything also when asked by a Dr around RD4 he knew how many fingers she had up. With that being said Cain cant stand the man he is the GSP of the HW div lay and prey for 5rds bring up gus,JBJ, or tell DC to stop being a sourpuss and fight Cain

  6. Fight night! Anyone else picking JDS? I know I'm in the minority, but think he'll find his mark this time. Wouldn't be surprised if Roy Nelson introduces Cormier to lala land either, Cormier's fight against Mir was lackluster, and Big Roy is nobody to scoff at. Alot more experience. Oh what the hell, I'll pick Roy. Year of the upset.

If JDS looses my wife might go off the deep end she loves some JDS .......my picks are JDS,Roy,Dodson,Sanchez.and GG to be showed the door
