  1. I saw a movie called "The Colony" this past weekend.  Must have been a straight to video release.  I though it was an excellent low-budget horror/sci-fi movie.  Basically, the earth enters a new ice age and the survivors have grouped together in "colonies".  They have to fight to survive against themselves and other humans.  It stars Laurance Fishburn and Bill Paxton.

I was pleasantly suprised by how good this movie was also!

Just finishing watching Children of Men (2006) on AMC. Dear Lord this is an amazing movie. I'm pretty burned out on dystopian/post apocalyptic movies but this one is incredible. I'd never seen it before. Never heard anything about it. It's a masterpiece and if I'd seen it before, I would have known a long time ago what a masterful director Cuaron can be.

I kind of fell asleep on this one...

White House Down with Tatum Channing was on cable for free so I watched it this past weekend.   About the worst action movie I have ever seen. It is a very bad ripoff of Die Hard.

  3. I definitely am not getting burned out on the shows. They are actually keeping my interest in t.v. at the moment. I kind of feel satisfied having to catch up on so many shows. I love Archer by the way. I just started season three. I think it is fantastic. One of my favorite cartoons. Is it a little creepy that I am turned on by Lana? I have always been attracted to Aisha, mmmmm thigh highs and short skirts haha!

Thanks for the advice by the way!!!

    Great show!

  4. Big fan of Lost, Game of Thrones, Firefly, The Americans and Walking Dead.

One more that hasn't been mentioned yet - Fringe. Just a fantastic show (think X-Files but focused on next generation science/technology, and the people who would use those things for less than noble ends, rather than aliens). Developed a really stellar overarching mythology, and brought itself to a very satisfying close at the end. It starts off kind of episodic the first half of the first season, with each ep just a new mystery for them to solve, before it really gets going. But man does it get going. Very original and creative.

Parallel universes, alternate timelines, and John Noble (the steward of Gondor) as a brilliant but unbalanced scientist with a taste for licorice and LSD.

Ratings weren't great, but it had a super solid cult following that kept it going for 5 seasons.

Fringe was good till it jumped the shark a season or two ago.

  5. I don't get out to the movie theatre very much. I usually just wait until they are on satellite. Had a free preview weekend of all the movie channels (HBO, CInemax, Starz, etc), so when I see this I usually record a bunch of them on the DVR. I found about 10 or 11 movies to record.

    Watched so far:

    Project X

    Moneyball

    Have on DVR to watch:

    My Idiot Brother

    21 Jump Street

    Fantastic Journey 2

New Year's Eve (for the wife)

    The Sitter

    Three Stooges

Robin Hood (the most recent version)

(and a few more I can't think of this morning)

I recently watched all the James Bond movies from the 1st up to Casino Royale. I'd had seen parts of them in the past, but never watched any from beginning to end.

Sean Connery is the best one. Surprised at how well Timothy Dalton was. Liked Pierce Brosnan. Roger Moore always looked too old for the role. The one George Lazenby was decent, but he was, I don't know, weird. As for the last few bonds with Daniel Craig...I can't stand his Bond. He's mean, surely, angry and overall a jackass. Bond is not supposed to be a jackass.

Anyway, flipping channels last night and caught the end of The Karate Kid on AMC. "Sweep the Leg" Kobra Kai.

Daniel Craig's Bond is the best followed closely by Sean Connery. Craig made watching "Bond" fun again.

  6. That was my problem too. I don't care if someone dances around, but wait until you make sure your opponent is OK. I know it was a huge win, but your celebration can wait a few minutes.

I do not like Phil Baroni at all, and we all know how he likes attention. But after he knocked that kid out in Cage Rage a few months ago, I was happy that he was genuinely concerned about his opponent and went to check on him before anything else.

But then he got head-butted, so maybe that was not the best call either. :)

Well you must hate half the UFC cuz almost EVERYONE celebrates

first and then walks over to see how the other person is doing.
