That is exactly how I feel about the 75th anniversary uniforms. In a vacuum I love them, but I associate them with our loss to the Giants in early 2007.
I don't understand why people liked the 75th uniforms so much? I thought they were the ugliest uniforms we ever wore..That political "R" on the cheesy yellow (gold) helmets gave us an appearance that lacked intimidation.
-
Could care less for the elimination Camber. But they should bring back the war games.
-
Uniforms shouldn't look "busy", to me. The best uniforms out there that have stood the test of time, are usually simple. And clean. The Oregon comparison was because Oregon usually has some really awful uniforms. Too much going on with them. There's no place for that in the NFL, imo.
Bubble Screen, some of those clean looking teams evolved from a much more cleaner look. Not saying I'm against a simple look. But times do change.
I think if it works in college football, then it certainly would work in the NFL. Most college fans are fans of the NFL. It worked for the pro teams Ravens & Bucs. I really don't think Jurgy's work is that busy looking. IMO.. But would it hurt if the skins updated their jerseys? No. Just my thoughts.

You're joking, right? Those look like something Oregon would come up with. Don't know which is worse, the gold helmet, or the feather on the sock.
I'm all for a slight makeover to our uniforms, but come on, those are atrocious.
Bubble Screen, what's wrong with having a feather on the helmet or the sock? To me, it makes more sense than having just stripes. Looks more appropriate than the nostalgia conservative one's we currently have. Comparison to Oregon? I disagree.

These are loud. Louder than even the Seahawks redesign. Not a bad premise, but the piping and the feather elements really don't work for me, especially in tandem with our current logo on the side of the helmet. Really do like the color scheme ideas, however.
The reason I like his idea is because it looks more appropriate with the theme of our team. To me, it isn't over done looking. Piping makes sense. The use of feather works for me because Native Americans wore feathers. We are the Redskins. If we have to get a new look, looking more tribal makes sense.

Now that the Redskins are on the verge of greatness for years to come, I thought a new look might be appropriate. I designed a new uniform, taking elements of the traditional and some new bits. And i used burgundy and gold; not yellow, not mustard, not off-coffee...GOLD!!
The basic design:

And how it might look on the field:

Whatcha think?
JurgyFan, they look awesome! Best idea I ever seen on the internet. Especially with the feather on the helmet/socks. Normally not a fan of gold helmets, but those are pulled off nicely. Seriously, send those pictures to the Nike or Snyder.

Has anyone heard of new uniforms and a re-branding of the team for the RGIII era. Kind of like what the Falcons did for the Vick era. Markthehomer is a VP at Nike and usually has the inside track on these things.
It should be a idea in serious consideration because our current uni combo are confusingly outdated and fugly. Maybe it's time to move on.
Hopefully we ditch the banana pants. Please go back to the burgundy pants.
-
Please, bro... the Throwbacks were so lame, except for the helmets. for Dallas Cowboys game 12/30, i think monochrome, like the Kool-Aid we need the whole team to drink. What about a gold/gold combo? So this jersey, plus gold pants:
Throwbacks weren't suppose to grab anyone's attention because it's from 1937. Helmets were the ugliest part of the uniforms.
But Gold on gold combo? It would cause everyone to go blind. We are the REDskins.
-
Ditch the throwbacks idea & time to move on from the past because our future looks promising. I think we need modernize the uniforms. Not drastically. Kinda like what the Vikings did to their unis.
-
I love the Burgundy & Gold. I hope this trend continues as it's the teams colors. I just wish they'd get those colors right, like this:
I was hoping we would just keep those. But yeah colors scheme look more appropriate than our current.
-
ditto ... very dated and more than a fan generation old
sure they wore the current uniforms when they won the super bowl ... but as far as holding onto traditions etc. ... they wore the current uniforms through about 20 years of primarily terrible performances and socially humiliating conduct that we've had to suffer through and been associated with. NY, Philly have both updated their uniforms in that time and even Dallas has tweaked their ever so basic and boring blues white and star set.
I say go new and cutting edge (and "really" use "burgundy" and "gold" as opposed to cardinal red and green bay yellow) ... or go back to the actual roots like the current 80th anniversary colors and style (with a non-leather helmet design) as the standard uniform
I agree. It would be wise for the franchise to move on and get modern with the times.
Big fan of the color scheme for the 80th unis which looks more intimating/mean looking. Looks cool. Finally using real gold...not clown gold (yellow).

Darn I didn't see it. Sorry people. been a while for me. If i knew how to lock/delete or at least merge with other thread. i would.
-
Yep. Major let down for me. Still the same look.
Not trying to be fashion police, but I was hoping to see a more modern cooler look to our team...but i guess danny said no.
What are your thoughts?
-
I really don't root for the team because of our uniforms..so I really don't care either way..but I do agree with changing up uniforms. It wouldn't hurt us.
^ These please.
-
Honestly I could care less for the game. But to think about... our skins seriously need to update their uniforms in the modern day era.
-
I like the white on white. Not sure why people think it looks bad.
I'm not sure why it's popular among a few, but those yellow R helmets from last year are UGLY. UGLY! Worst uniforms.
But if we HAVE to change something, we should just change up the burg jerseys to these: http://www.footballfanatics.com/NFL_Washington_Redskins_Jerseys/Reebok_NFL_Equipment_Washington_Redskins__Number_24_Shawn_Springs_Burgundy_Alternate_Replica_Footbal

Give me these or give me nothing at all.
I agree. The 70th were really good.
-
I like white over the burgs.
-
75th unis are god awful ugly. Worst unis in skin history, it's that bad.
Current home jerseys are fine.
Away red jerseys could use some serious work.
-
So... below is what we're wearing at home this year.... for two games?
Definitely different..... and I'd love to see a good photo with the burgundy on gold combination from this same year.
Those uniforms are the worst looking uniforms I've ever seen. I'm being dead serious. Current jersey looks even more better than these USC crap 75th jerseys.
I actually thought the 70th one's were more hip.
-
I think the skins need to get new uniforms all together. It's time to move on.

I agree. I don't understand why using a white collar. Looks a little low budget. The picture you used is how it should be.
I think our uniforms continue to be going down hill. Since bruce allen arrived, every change we made has been for the worst. It's a mess now. Gold pants is too bright on the eyes and looks terrible to me. Too loud. Trim doesn't match the jerseys & socks don't match anything. Honestly, i hate to say it, but we have the sloppiest uniforms. I think we either go back to what we had from the 80s-2000s or get a new uniform overhaul.
Should do what the vikings did this year to their uniforms. Sharp looking. IMO
