  1. At this point, stealing sports tickets is an incredibly stupid pursuit.  All it takes is one call to the ticket office and they can deactivate the bar codes and issue you new tickets, rendering the stolen tickets worthless.  The only loser is the poor sap who buys one of them for cash outside of FedEx Field.

I'm more afraid that someone will see them, break in, and leave more Redskins tickets.

  2. Seat 9 is still there!

What do they do with all the singles?

I'm surprised - there actually was a lot of movement with the singles. I'd notice one in a favorable but not outstanding location and a couple of hours later it'd be gone. I'd see another in another place, and it would be gone. They are churning at a pretty healthy rate.

218 is finally down to 9 and 225 down to 5. Pairs available in both still, and a 3 in 218, all toward the back.

  3. If you want to move to midfield in the uppers there's good availability right now but not much super low. I can't see the corners and ends which is where I'd guess most of the action is right now. 218/225 still have availability on the wrong side of the price border.

  4. I a guessing with the amount of lower level still open, there should be some upper level sideline open. Can any please confirm this? Right now I am in section 440 row 5. I am looking to move closer to the 50. I would like to stay with in the first 10 rows of the section.

Which side gets the sun in the September games Visitor or Redskins?

System's really slow but at the moment you can.

  5. My upgrades not till tuesday. Any 100's or 200's left?

    HTTR

I can't see the corners and endzones but would guess there are seats available. 100s on the sidelines are really down to just a few singles. Still some availability in 218 and 225.
  6. Whether it makes individual sense or not, the stadium is still predominantly STH and the current market is driven by that. Without counting them all up (and if someone wants to, feel free to correct me) by eyeball and the reports here right now there are in the ballpark of under 1,000 seats open in the lowers and maybe around 1,500 in the uppers in GA. (Clubs are a different market in NFL economics even as bad as it is.). That's still pretty strong. The secondary market is huge and weak but it is still only a subset of the entire market.

These numbers are interesting because they seem to line up with what the team is doing. If the similarly back-of-the-envelope calculation upthread about how many seats are being removed is right, it's right in the ballpark of the number that's vacant now (and that number seems to be off the now-reduced capacity). Only they know what they can actually fill off the "wait list", but it's a clear effort to get supply closer to demand.

The team will adjust the capacity/prices/etc to keep the market viable, and the future lies in smaller capacity and making the stadium a more exclusive experience - just as it does for the rest of the league as it competes with TV and worsening stadium experiences everywhere. That's also why you now see them making better efforts to improve care and retention of STH. The primary market won't crater because they can't allow it to - that's just basic business.

  7. It is only possible for people to buy cheap tickets off Stubhub because they are subsidized by season ticket holders.

No season ticket holders, no buying cheap tickets off one's phone.

  8. So tell us where you were and where you are now!

I just moved from 220 over to 223 today but started over in 211 so it is a huge jump for me compared to last year. The upgrade was to move down to a low row and more to the middle of the row.

Other than being on the visitors side, this should be about perfect according to all of the accumulated wisdom of the board. I've moved around a fair bit but it's now funny because I have gone from Upper Standing to 223 in the most recent two years....

  9. A tip for those waiting for their window. If you've received the offer to buy additional seats, you can see what is available before your time comes using that link. I had scouted out a location last night and when I logged in this morning it looked like the same inventory so I was able to jump right on my choice when I could get in. Great upgrade.

  10. Is the standing problem in the whole section in the 100s, or just the front? What about the very back?

I'm new on the sidelines this year after being relocated for the band. I'd like to try to upgrade over to the Redskins side, but since I'm now in 220 the odds of finding something comparable in the 200s on the home side seems low without moving down to the 100s where there seems to be just a bit more availability.

  11. You can see what is available if you've gotten the offer to add seats online. There aren't a ton of them, but there are a few nice seats available scattered here and there through the lower sidelines except right on the 50 and in the 200s on the home side. It's showing nothing in the entire upper level.

I don't remember seeing availability like these before, but would guess it might have something to do with the fact that my account itself is now on the sidelines.

  12. They didn't push the upgrade - actually started with what was available in the same price range and I certainly could have had a roughly comparable seat to 211 but asked what else might be available.
