It was the first game in which the Redskins scored more than 17 points; they posted 27. The first time they beat a team with a winning record; the Broncos were 6-2. And the first time punter Hunter Smith threw a touchdown pass; a 35-yard throw that seemed to take forever to get to a wide-open Mike Sellers near the goal line. It was a win that brought much needed relief to the fans. The team estimated 85,247 in attendance, but it was more like low seventy-thousands. But for those who came out, it was by far the best game they have seen this year. “It’s been arid the last few weeks and to be able to come off with a win, you almost don’t really know how to feel,” said head coach Jim Zorn. “Yet, we remembered very quickly.
