We have a prison reform thread, but not a criminal justice reform thread, which I view as two distinct topics.   The criminal justice system is currently making important strides away from the, IMO, harmful and counterproductive policies of the 1980s and 1990s.  Sentencing for minor drug offenses (overwhelmingly used to put young men of color in prison) is being relaxed, cash bail is being eliminated, many large cities are setting up sentencing review units to correct unduly harsh sent
