Good list

Thanks.

Man, I just went back and read your list again. I came this close to putting BOC on my list too. I almost feel guilty for leaving them off since they are one of the main reasons I picked up the guitar in the first place, many moons ago. They are a great band and I never miss them when they come to town.

Still, that’s my list today. Ask me again in five years and that might change.

"Also a rumored mini-tour with Isis coming up as well.

from www.distortiononline.com

- Sorry for not posting this sooner, but in a recent post by Blair, he reveals that a Tool US Mini Tour with the band ISIS is in the works:

geMINI + TAURUS = MIN(O)TAUR (See: GenISIS)

Further evidence to prove this is that Justin Chancellor recently played live with ISIS and they stated that "your two favorite 4-letter bands will be touring together."

It's hard to sift through the loads of crap that Blair posts, but the quote from Isis is more welcoming.

Also, if you like rock, i suggest you check out Clutch, cky, and isis. Three good bands.

There's a rumor that Isis will be joining Tool on a mini US tour.

I think you're mislabeling them as rock though. They are a bit too atmospheric and sludge-like to be lumped into that genre.

Testament

Slayer

Kings X

Soilwork

Rush

Allman Brothers Band

Songs:

“Complain” – Kings X

“First Strike is Deadly” – Testament

Allmusic has them as: grindcore, heavy metal, and alternative metal. You heard of cky or clutch?

I listen to Clutch every once in awhile just to support the local guys, but I can't say much for their entire body of work. They don't really ever evolve. Everything sounds pretty much the same. It's not bad, but they could stand to be a bit more creative.

I have listened to CKY at all yet. My brother digs them, and has been pushing them on me, but I haven't had a chance to sample them yet.
