Whose the second string QB?

I didn't see this post anywhere. I was thinking about who is backing up Ramsey, and whose third string? Most scouts feel Campbell is two years away from being a full time starter. We can only hope Musgrave can help Campbell develope sooner. When you think about it, Ramsey is the true starter. It's his job to loose. But who is will enter training camp as the number #2? Brunell has a big contract. I would hate to see him as the third sting QB making close to 5 mil a year...ouch. If Ramsey gets hurt do you think Gibbs would really send Campbell in the game over Brunell? How far has Brunell fallen off? Has his skills deminish that much that a rookie QB gives us a better chance to win a game? What about Hassellbeck. He seems like we could squeeze a few wins out of him. That Bruhell deal looks worst everyday.

Brunell is still the #2 IMO, Gibbs wouldn't want to put Campbell in until he feels he is fully ready.

It's more than likely that Brunell hits the road after this season meaning Campbell moves up to #2 and if the season is over early either due to a bad record or play-off possition assured then Campbell may more up to #2 for a few games to give him some snaps.

Brunell is backup for now, Campbell has to be groomed. Preseason and training camp glimpses do not equal starter or higher backup. Look at Taylor, had to wait a little while, despite participating through most of training camp/preseason.

I want to see which qb we sign in the draft next year? Unless we find a way to keep Hass, i see Brunnell being released June 1st 2006.

Some choices might be taken care of if brunnell takes a huge paycut, and agrees to stay, but i understand he wants to be a starter somewhere.

Hasn't Gibbs pretty much stated emphatically all along that Ramseys the starter, and Brunell's the back-up? Theres no question about that according to Gibbs.

Only something earth-shattering in training camp is going to change that.

I think thats why you haven't seen a thread about it :)

Personally, I listen to Coach Gibbs about things like this. He kinda makes that call and he's made it very clear that Brunell is Ramsey's backup.

Gibbs may be deceptive at times, to keep other teams guessing, but when he addresses something clearly and specifically, again and again, I don't see it as something that's actually up for speculation.

Great chance of that happening. I'm sure when he's released next year his phone will be ringing off the hook.
