But after comparing the draft choices by all other NFC teams as compared to ours.....I hate to say it but it appears as though you guys haven't gotten any closer to us. In fact, it appears as though the Cowboys have surpassed you as well.

Agree?

Disagree?

Let me know what you guys think!

Hold on I just threw up in the huddle. What did you say?

Come on dude, you can't know who is better now and who is worse. Injuries haven't happened yet. The beloved T.O might not come to camp. Even if he does your recieving corp sucks saggy titties. We have better recievers, better running back, fairly equal defense, you may have the special teams edge as well as QB. You had your chances and you blew it. Go sit with the Broncos and Bills from the late 80's early 90's.

Hard to argue, but we usually win the off-season battle and what has that gotten us?

Great point...we've all gotten so spoiled by winning the offseason over the past 10 years or so. Maybe this is not such a bad thing. We'll see in September.

I don't think you're wrong to think we haven't really closed the gap on you. I think where you might be wrong is to think there's that big a gap at all. Dallas will not be as good this season as they will be next season. They underwent a talent infusion in the draft and in free agency that we underwent last year. It takes a little time to meld all that together, as we well know.

The Eagles advantage is not so much in personnel as it is in stability, continuity and understanding within successful systems and, to Reid's credit, the willingness of the coaching staff to adapt to the talent. I always knew Johnson did that, but I thought Reid was a terrible playcaller. Last year you guys really became a dangerous, deadly offense with that downfield passing attack that was long absent from how you played.

Teams that are successful against a team like the Eagles also need to be somewhat stable and enjoy some of the continuity you guys have long had. That is the biggest gap we have to close is time to develop in the system.

As we saw in the second game against you, in particular, last year, we can NOW man up against you. With Spurrier we could not. With Marty we could. And to play with the Eagles, you have to be able to handle their physical nature, deliver it back, and to win, you have to get them to shy away even a little.

That happened to some extent in our second game against you.

And we have achieved relative continuity and stability for an NFL franchise this offseason. We won't match that advantage you have for another year or so I'd guess. But, I suspect our advantage THIS offseason is we didn't have to do what Dallas did this offseason to close on you. We had to do just what we did to do that.

I love it.....I make a simple statement and ask for constructive critisim and get kiddy comments from the peanut gallery.

What a joke! Allow me to address everyone in this thread so far....

Evil Genius...good point, I based my observations on addition/subtractions.....

Airbourne....TO has a clause (sp) in his contract that says if he misses any mandatory practice, the Eagles have the right to take back half of his initial signing bonus. He'll be at practice on Friday, plus with Runyan taking a pay cut, I think TO will be just fine!

Kevin B......you sig "appears" to be a cry for help thats falling on def ears. What are you trying to do, convinvce the board or yourself?

Faithful...got tanked....real cute, 3 points and we tanked right? Whats funny is that when we beat you guys on Sunday night, half the board, including yourself took it as "WE HAD THE EAGLES ON THE ROPES!" Well, we EAGLES fans can say "WE HAD THE DEFENDING SUPER BOWL CHAMPS ON THE ROPES......IN THE SUPER BOWL!"

Skinstzar....."We have better recievers, better running back, fairly equal defense, you may have the special teams edge as well as QB. " TO alone is better than you whole receiving corps! You had the better group until you let Coles go, now you have nothing more than a bunch of track stars who are better suited to be Pro Bowl ST players than receivers.

I simply stated that based upon your needs, with the exception of Rodgers, not to many were met. While Dallas loaded up on Defense, we filled in our cracks, and even ATL got what they needed. Your draft was mind boggling! Especially when you needed a Number 1 receiver, and let 3 of them slip through your fingers! Thus, in my opinion, everyone basically past you, even ARZ.

Whatever. You were fishing and even Stevie Wonder could have seen it. There have been dozens of Chicken Little threads since Saturday afternoon, yet you came along with no intentions of trolling just to add one more? Save it.

I see, the Cowboys win the big offseason crown and they're suddenly contenders. How quickly the winds change from when we held up that crown and were derided for it.

And what did the Cowboys do to improve? Essentially add has beens or those on the decline in their career to their staff. They'd better do something in the next year or two since those additions and other aging personnel will leave them a bunch of holes to contend with then.

As for us, we've plugged some holes on defense that'll keep our #3 ranked unit rolling along. On offense, we needed to fix the o-line and our gameplan. The o-line got fixed with adding Rabach and welcoming back Jansen. The gamplena will be improved over the offseason. As for WRs, we may not have a superstar, but with a good o-line and good QB play from Ramsey we don't need to have a superstar to make the offense go, especially if Portis is given opportunities to run .

Remember that most of our losses last year were close affairs. If we score something like four more points, we win 10 games. With a revamped and improved offense, I think that'll translate into four more points. And if they defense stays where it is, you just might see a different record for the better this season.

Well Bubba, we did...

1 - Get a replacement for the soon to be departed Corey Simon, Freddie Mitchell and possibly Brian Westbrook.

2 - Drafted the heir to Dawkins and Tra Thomas

3 - Added Special Teams help

4 - Found a replacement for Ike Reese
