Rock is not a FB

HE converted to Half back last year to make the team notice he slimed down a bit. This two picks are bruiser HB which are so tall they can be FB, Gibbs is probably adding the FB to his offense and thought he could get quality depth. Also, Portis is a speed back, but White is a bruiser back, put both on the field at the same time and you could yield some nice results a la Auburn 2004. Cartwright stays. Its Ladell that can pack his bags after this season when his deal is up, or now.

Gibbs is trying to stretch his roster spots by haveing three RB who can be FB when needed.

No way we keep Rock over Betts, unless we get compensation for Betts. Rock will have a slim chance to make the team the way it stands, but everyone will have to earn a spot.

All things being equal, Rock will get cut, he will have to outplay the other guys significantly to make the team.

Let me see.

Rock has played 3 years.

These others have never played a down.

And Rock is getting cut.

And you started coaching for the Skins when?

For the record............Rock was a TB in high school and the first year of college. He then converted to FB.

Just for the record.

Who's choice was it for Rock to slim down when Gibbs got here? His or the staff? I wasnt sure about this.

The very first day Gibbs and company were here, Rock went to Redskin park to meet them.

He talked with Byner.

Byner told him to lose weight.

If you rate 2 players equally in preseason, it is to the teams benefit to keep th younger player, because he is cheaper, will be under contract longer and has more potential to improve. You are the one who is pretending to coach because you love this guy so much.

I was making an unbiased assesment in general. I have nothing against Rock, if he steps up and makes the team, more power to him, but Manuael White is a very good athlete and I don't think Rock will outperform him.

Rock has been nothing more than a bit player for this team. He will never be a feature back in this offense. He provides decent depth and good teams play but that is all. I don't see where signing these two guys effects his chance to stay or not, but if he is gone I won't lose any sleep over it.

Sorry Blondie
