Gibbs4Life
D- The only thing that keeps it from being an F is carlos rogers. 1st. Carlos rogers is the best cb in the draft, but considering we passed on mike williams to get him it is a horrible pick. We have the #3 defense in the league, and 28th or so offense and we got rid of our starting recievers but instead of getting the best reciever in the draft we go with carlos rogers. 1st. Jason Campbell, possibly the worst pick in the draft for what we gave up. We have basically sacrificed next years draft for a guy thats going to sit on the bench and might not ever play. We might have been in a position to draft kiwinuka next season or maybe even matt lienhart, now it doesnt matter. We also passed up on the best tightend in the draft in heath miller. Someone that might actaully help our offense instead of sit on the sideline. 4th. Some fullback we dont need. Instead of picking up jerome mathis, a wonderful looking prospect with sick juke moves and chris canty who is a beastly end who could have been a 1st rouder if he wasnt injured. We didnt pick up either one of these guys in positions of need, instead we let our enemy dallas get him. Another brilliant move by us. 5th. Robert mccune. The best move weve made all draft. He is speedy and might be able to replace barrow if he is still injured. the rest of our draft doesnt matter cause they probably suck and arent going to play. Probably the worst draft weve had in a long time. D- is being nice. id rate ours as probably the worst of the draft.

SnyderShrugged
At a minimum, so far it's a B. You are incorrect on all points and you show that you are actually comparable to a dead blade of grass or possibly a bowl of hair in your football IQ. That;s my opinion of your opinion. I see you have now added enough posts to upgrade you to rookie. Can you point out 5 specifics of positive or even neutral posts to us that would prove that you arent simply a troll? See what I can not understand is that you say we get a D and it would have been a F if it hadn't have been for Rogers pick. Then you go on to say McCune was the best move we made all draft. Am I the only one who sees this as contradiction? But I give us a B- maybe C+ can't really decide.

BlitzFiftySix
Unfortunately, I agree with Gibbs4life. I love the Rogers pick. Although we should have resigned Smoot and it wouldnt be necessary. Mike Williams would have provided us with what we needed most. Scoring. I hate the Jason Campbell pick. I question the FB selection. WTF? I love adding McCune for a late round pick. I hate the Newberry pick when Swancutt was available.
flashback
Carlos Rogers was a good pick. Campbell might be a good QB, but its hard to see how he helps the team in 2005. And you gave up 3 picks to get him. Manuel White might work out in the backfield with Portis, but I didn't know FB/H-back was a need. I also give the FO credit for a smart trade back in the 4th. But with what you gave up, and what you got, I give you guys a D.

GSF
I'm going to grade your post an F based on lack of reasearch or informed opinions. You seriously need to change your name since you are still alive and have obviously given up on Gibbs.
jtyler42
I actually think we have had a pretty successful draft...I have graded it at a B-/C+... We have filled needs w/all of our picks...
BlitzFiftySix
I agree with the last post. All of us here have nothing more than opinion. Not one of us has any NFL experience so having said that, we are all on equal ground. I am a self proclaimed draft-nik and follow developmental players closely. As a Redskins fan I don't see how we helped ourselves outside of the Rogers and McCune selections. I hope I'm wrong however.
Stricknine
Anybody that grades it right now is guessing. Plain and simple. I dont mind the moves we made. I will wait and see. Id expect nothing higher than a d from a cowboy fan. As good as your draft looks on paper, being a skins fan id be hard pressed to give you guys props. My heart just wont let me do it. TankRizzo
I like what we've done on day two but we botched day 1 big time! Rogers is going to be a good corner, but with the new no touch rule the value of shut down corners is way down, we should have taken Mike Williams there. I'm not extatic about this pick, but I am content. Campbell. :puke: Could we have sunk any more value into wasting this pick considering all of our other needs?!?!? This one really turns my stomach when I think about all of the picks we traded to get him. PLUS, this does nothing but add more controversy to the team. I'm sorry, but we're already all stocked up on controversy, I don't think we need any more. I give this pick an F. Overall I gave day one a D, I do like what we're doing on day two, but I would have still liked to have more picks. Probably round out to a C after everything is said and done. But IMO we botched the 1st round BIG TIME!
bulldog
1. Rogers will be a better all around corner than Smoot. He is faster, bigger and a better tackler in the open field. Plus even at #9 his contract will be cheaper for the team over the next 2-3 seasons. 2. Mike Williams was passed on by several other teams for the reason that there are those that believe he will be a glorified possession receiver in the NFL. The fact the Vikings passed on him for Williamson was a key as Tice indicated that they thought they already had 'underneath' guys in Burleson and Taylor. 3. NOBODY knows what the picks in round 4-7 are going to do in the NFL. If we did, each of us would be an NFL scout or GM. What we can do is read a bio and GUESS as to whether a guy seems to fit our system based on his measurables. Personally, I like the picks for Rogers and White the most. Then Campbell and then the first of the linebackers McCune. McCune has impressive measurables running a 4.5 for a guy who is over 250. The pick for Newberry to me is a bit questionable IF the team is intent on Jared being a linebacker in the NFL. He seems to lack the strength and size to be an NFL strong side linebacker. BUT if as mentioned in the draft preview, that Newberry could be considered for a move to WLB or S, then the pick becomes more attractive.

dfbovey
I would have prefered a DE at some point. We passed on Canty to get a FB and Haye and Swancutt in the 6th round for a camp fodder type LB. Drops the grade to a C for me. I like Rogers and McCune alot though. And while I'm not exactly keen on the way we handled the Campbell situation... I think he was an ok pick. Cskin
It's obvious you've read to many draft publications... and only focused on the top 30 players. Additionally, you're probably the same guy that sees every free agent released from another team as the potential saviour of the Redskins. Drink some more of that whine... we've still got a pick to make in the 7th.
GoCommiesGo
D I like Rogers, white and the big linebacker. But the amount that we gave up for #25 to get someone who can't contribute immediately just baffles me. It may work out to be great but I didn't see us taking that big step forward that other teams did. Look at Dallas it pains me to say it but I think they had one hell of a draft its a comparison because they to had two first round picks and got two guys who will contribute this season. Now this is all IMO.
