heyholetsgogrant
Mel Kiper on the radio said that dont be surpised if we draft a linebacker. This would not surprise me either, theirs the lavar mess and the loss of perice.
spjunkies
I would take a LB in the 4th round.
Fred Jones
Just pick Merriman. Call him a LB if you want, but get him.
REDKORN
A LB? Some times Mel is full of crap. Go back and compare some of his previous draft picks. I would take his comments with a grain of salt. We all know we need a CB, or a WR with the 9th pick.
heyholetsgogrant
Yea i agree you can have the best defense in the world, but if you can score you cant win, bottom line. I think we may go two offensive players in the first round. D
Dead Money
He didn;t say above that he was talkimg about the #9 pick.. He said don't be surprised if we take a linebacker. Outta 5 picks (6 if we get anything for gardner), there's a pretty good chance.

heyholetsgogrant
We just need to get a WR like clayton, or williams, so we can package the bums out (moss and gardner).
wskin44
Somehow I believe that we will take someone who hasn't been a part of a rumor the last few days. I'm beginning to wonder if Mike Williams is the real target. We've heard rumors of Smith, Edwards, Rogers and now a LB, but no "inside scoop" on Williams. With our current WR corp made up of small fast guys Williams would be the obvious choice (other than CB).
DonMagicJuan
dont be surprised......they're all wrong

Dont be surprised if we get Heath Miller and Along with Mike Williams.
BruinSkin
That's why I like Merriman. Flexibility to put him wherever you want.
heyholetsgogrant
That's why I like Merriman. Flexibility to put him wherever you want. Not worth the #9 pick, if we trade down yes...but he wont go past 15. I dunno I think hes overhyped, I didnt hear much about him in college untill now. Also, he got owned by heath miller in the UVA game (everyone says hes a bad blocker). Sometimes I think teams just put out this garbage to downgrade the player they really want. If we like him, we should take him.
heyholetsgogrant
Overrated in my opinion, he had a good workout and now everyones going Ape Sh#$ about him. Go with a true need, and that is CB, WR, and maybe DE.

Secondly, if we add someone who can put pressure on the QB, we don't need a top tier corner.

I would just be wery if him being a bust, dont be fooled by workouts.
Thinking Skins
We could draft any position and I'd be cool with at, so long as we get a quality player. Would you rather we sign a WR/CB who's a stretch to make it or a LB who we have confidence in? This is where I let the big dawgs do their work. We aren't a team thats incredibly deep at ANY position, and we always need to cover our own ass in case of injuries so if we draft any position all it does is make us a deeper team in terms of depth. And especially at LB where Williams likes to try differeny combos, depth is not a bad thing.

GoDannyBoy
Hopefully the scouting dept has turned up a late round guy who if on the board is a good choice. We will see tomorrow but I don't like the sound of this draft.
Danny Montana
I think Kiper is on to something here. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Merriman is the pick. Not a pure LB, but a hybrid. We haven't heard much lately about him.
RDSKNfaithfull
Trade down get Channing Crowder in the 2nd round:)
chet06
That is what I have been saying for a while now...and agree with our defense's reliance on using the position to create pressure... My top 2 surprise possibilities Derrick Johnson with #9 and Fabian Washington with #25 if they dont trade those picks.
chet06
Of course I think Troy Williamson is another possibility.
