RunPortisRun
I dont see anyone trading as many picks as we did to draft a project (Matt Jones). Miller is the pick at #25. And the Jets know it.
RedskinzOwnU
I have to say I really like this plan. Cornerback at 9, Miller at 25. The "lesser" first round receivers do not interest me this year, I think we could get a lot more out of miller than we would out of white or clayton on our offense. He is absolutely right about the gibbs schemes and what not. I would much rather the skins do this and avert disaster than trade every pick we own for the next 2 years just to get 1 michigan receiver. Does anyone think the Skins' are trying to finagle a second rounder out of the Jets? If the Jets truly do covet Miller, then maybe Gibbs & co. slid in front of them as intimidation. They could select Miller, then directly trade him to the Jets for their #26 and a second or third rounder, plus maybe a pick next year. Either that, or complete the same deal with Pittsburgh. Just a thought that popped into my head...
SKINtil8tin
This was a pretty good argument and I can see how differently the offense would work if either of these guys (Miller or Jones) were in the equation. I'm not too sure about our wr corps being upgraded and complete though. #9 I'd be happy with Jones or Rolle but wouldn't be too upset if they were gone and we got Rodgers. Putting him at TE would be a very boneheaded move; he is the x-factor, and proved himself last year. If they DO draft Matt Jones, they're playing him at WR. Wideouts can go in motion too
Golgo-13
Everybody feels like we need a big possession reciever in order to open up our offense a bit. The fact of the matter is that a big TE would fit the bill as a big possession reciever and if we can find one that has good blocking techniqe then so much the better especially considering we are a running team. The bottom line is that Joe needs another playmaker that can put another wrinkle into our offensive scheme and both of these guys seem to fit the bill there. Miller is more the sure thing because he has been at his true position all throughout college and excelled there in a tough conference. But he has had some injury questions come up and needs to bulk up a bit as well. Jones on the other hand is the wild card. You can't help but look at the numbers and drool at his potential a bit. But then again we said the same thing about Kwame Brown about 5 years ago so you just never know. Being the type of person that likes to take chances in hope of a big payoff I side with the Jones pick a little more but I could live with Miller. I also prefer Rogers to Pacman at CB with the #9. I would even say that without a tradedown, if we could get another 3rd rounder in a trade down and get Rogers then I would be thrilled. But in anycase I think that CB and game-changing offensive player are what we will see on day 1 on Saturday. It seems like a lot of people have realized that Merriman is likely not going to be the pick, especially if we are going after Jones later in the first. That would be TWO gambles on athletic talent with no true NFL position yet determined which I think would be overboard.
TC4
Great read..................till you get the the part about Heath Miller ***NOTE TO ALL U. OF MARYLAND, U. OF VIRGINIA AND VIRGINIA TECH FANS*** The Redskins DO NOT pick players based SOLELY upon the fact that they played for one of those schools just because they are in the area If we did, our QB's name might very well be Ron Mexico

skins4eva
I thought you made a fantastic point about our cap trouble next year, which may have been the reason we were willing to trade away next season's first rounder....i also think that the football pundits keep saying this is a weak draft, but I happen to think that there is some great talent out there at every position.
