goldenster95
I can't stress enough the gameplan issue with our team. That just galls me to no end. It stinks for Pat and it stinks for Portis. As for the latter, it's optimally geared, right now, for a back like Betts. Let's hope that changes. Anyways, Happy New Year.

The Redskins have to show for once in the past 10- 15 years that they can take a player at a key position such as QB and fully develop him and reap the rewards. The idea of a QB coming into the league and being immediately productive is mostly bunk. Look at Eli Manning. There are a couple of exceptions: most notably Rothensburgh and Brees. Amen to that. MaddogCT
I guess those people in Dallas made the wrong decision too: I was curious so I did a comparison between Aikman and Ramsey. Aikman played in 26 games in his first two seasons, all under the same head coach and in the same system. Ramsey played in 26 games in his first 3 seasons. Two under Spurrier and one under Gibbs. Two different systems and two different OC. Dare I say that Ramsey's numbers are about the same if not better?!! Man What was Dallas thinking in keeping that guy?!?! No excuses necessary. He's progressing fine. I can't wait to see what he'll be like after 26 games in Gibb's offense! Aikman 1989: 155 293 52.9 1749 6.0 9 18 -11 games 1990: 226 399 56.6 2579 6.5 11 18 -15 games After 26 games in 2 seasons: Comp ATT PCT Yrds Y/A TD INT 381 692 55.0 4328 6.25 20 36 Ramsey: 2002: 117 227 51.5 1539 6.8 9 8 -10 games 2003: 179 337 53.1 2166 6.4 14 9 -11 games 2004: 86 145 59.3 826 5.7 6 7 -5 games After 26 games is 3 seasons: Comp ATT PCT Yrds Y/A TD INT 382 709 53.8 4531 6.39 29 24 Note: this is a repost from another thread from a few weeks ago, so the numbers are not exactly up to the date of Jan 1, 2005. Anyway, I guess my point is, in looking at the numbers Ramsey is on the same track as Aikman so far. It would be a rush to judgement to get a new QB next year. Besides look how long we stuck with Theismann before we won a Super Bowl. Oh and Theisman is the last Washington quarterback to start more than five seasons in a row. And the last to start five in a row? Rypien. Yea, all this QB shuffling has done wonders for our win/loss record. :logo:
