I agree...I will be rooting for underdog Panthers to win. They have a much better shot at making some noise in the playoffs and not the Saints/Rams....God this loss is really BURNING me up!!! Forget the playoffs...it is this Dallas loss that will leave me bitter for weeks :puke:

I would've rather had the win today too, but it's time to start looking for a team to root for after next week.

Cool. That's what I'm thinking. I want Carolina in the Divisional game and Atlanta in the NFC championship game.

Then when we win, noone can say we took an easy route.

The way the AFC's top teams have played these last few weeks....I'll take my chances in a one game season against any of them.

I'm sorry, I live in Charlotte and and I just don't see it. The Panthers flat out suck and will lose (and lose big) when they finally play a decent team in the playoffs. The media is all over their nuts because they took advantage of a VERY weak schedule. About the only thing the Panthers have going for them is some confidence and momentum because of that schedule down the stretch.

Philly, Minny, GB or Atlanta would all embarass them in the playoffs.

Im with you 100%. They are a joke, ive seen all of their games, and they are a one player team. You stop Peppers(by double teaming him-which teams have done this year a lot) and you stop that team completely. And if you wanted to see some bad calls, you should have seen that Panthers-Bucs game yesterday. They only called pass inteference when the CB didn't interfere and didn't call it when it was blatent. I don't want to hear any more whining about the calls, they suck throughout the league.

I don't think Atlanta is for real. Michael Vick, Peerless price, Warrick Dunn, Alge Crumpler. Big names and still, I just don't see the "potency." Carolina does have real weapons, even if thay don't have big names. Philly is just so fundamentally strong. That may get them over the hump. Without Owens though, it's no longer a cake-walk.

BTW- westbrook36, thanks for the kind words last night. I was about ready to jump off the ledge.:)

kinda off topic, is there any way we can knock the vikings out of their wild card spot? If so what would have to happen?[/Quote]

Yes, you can. The following would have to happen:

Obviously, you would have to beat Minnesota.

The Rams win tonight against the Eagles.

The Rams beat the Jets.

The Rams and the winner of the Panthers/Saints game would get in and the Vikings would be out.

now that the 'Skins are out I'll have to default to rooting for the Rams tonight.

The Vikings came close to knocking off Philly earlier this year on MNF. -

The Steelers, Pats or Colts will go to the Superbowl in the AFC, and any of those teams will easily handle any NFC team this year.

How is it that Atlanta doesn't have the firepower, but Carolina does? Atlanta already beat Carolina last week in a meaningless game for them (but VERY meaningful for Carolina). There is nothing there that makes me think that with 2 motivated teams, Atlanta doesn't just beat the crap out of Carolina in the playoffs. And anyone of Minny, GB or Philly would destroy them as well.

In my view, the only real thing the Panthers have is the ESPN/FOX hype machine behind them because it makes a good story. (Which unfortunately does carry weight with the officials, making a team more fundamentally sound then they actually are with their whistles.)

as long as someone beats the Eagles, im happy. However, I think the Falcons are still overrated, they may have a decent defense, but their offense is the Michael Vick show, look what happened yesterday.

I would root for the Panthers only cause I feel they overcame a lot to get back in contention. Also, I have nothing against their fans, as many were skins fans before.

Well, try living down here and listen to the slack-jawed yokels on the radio talking about ignorantly about a sport they don't understand. And then you hear the fans call in and you get even more irritated about the lack of "real" (ie. not ESPN) knowledge of the sport.

I can certainly understand why fans like them because they're such a good story with all that they overcame this year - because that is exactly how ESPN and FOX are portraying them. It just sickens me because I know just how bad this team has been, and it's only because of how ridiculously easy their soft end-of-year schedule has been.

I applaud the Panthers for beating the ugly step-childs of the NFC (wish the 'skins could've done that). But for ESPN and the like to go on and say that the upper echelon teams are scared of them because of their recent play is pure fabricated fantasy.

Ditto. I live down here also. Being a die hard skins fan, I got sick of seeing all the bandwaggoners climbing on board with the Panthers. People who didn't even know one player on the team were wearing Panthers gear last season. Then after the slow start this year, people couldn't give away tickets to a Panthers game. The fans in this area certainly don't deserve the team to make the playoffs.

I'm sick of the Panthers and everybody kissing their ass, especially Tom Jackson and the clowns on NFL Countdown.

They were in the Super Bowl last year, and this year they're clawing for a playoff spot. I don't care how many injuries you've had; that shouldn't happen. If the 'Skins were in the same situation, you'd be hearing about how far they've fallen.

Fact is, they're not that good. The Iggles will destroy them in the playoffs if they meet, I'm sorry to say.

HAHAHA!!!! icon_mao.gif

Any questions?????

I just can't believe so many people bought into the media hype, hook, line and sinker! I mean, all other playoff teams scared of the Panthers-- give me a freakin' break.

Easy schedule does not equal good team!!
