Worst Redskin qb in Recent History

It's Shuler for me. While Brunell played horrible last year, he has been a good QB in the past and can share his knowledge with Ramsey. Maybe his relationship with Ramsey could help Ramsey to become more comfortable and a better QB this year.

Shuler gave us nothing at all.

Jeff George. Those first 3 games in 2001 were absolutely pathetic before he was released. The Redskins lost games by record margins with no passing yardage at all and George went down by the rush before the linemen actually put a hand on him

when you add his stupid comment about the quarterback not having to be a leader and leadership being overrated generally, you can see why this guy was a journeyman in the NFL.

Shuler just didn't have the physical or psychological makeup to be an NFL quarterback. He worked hard, he just didn't make it at the elite level that is the NFL.

And he did manage to lead the Redskins to a victory over Dallas

I think Heath Shuler was the all-time worst

This is hardly a fair comparision. Im assuming you mean the worst while they played here. So your recent history goes back 11 years. OK.

Shuler 1994-96 19 games. He was the worst for the longest period of time. Norv Turner

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/ShulHe00.htm

What a bust he ended up being. The hand pick QB by the QB coach. BUST.

Between him and Wuerffel thats picking from the bottom, but since he was a first round, high pick ( was he #1 or #2 ? ) HE WINS FOR THE WORST BY A LONG SHOT

Danny Wuerffel 2002 7 games- Sperier

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/WuerDa00.htm

Untallented player under a coach who didnt get the NFL. Not even much of a career. At least he didnt cost much.

Tony Banks 2001 - 15 games Marty Schottenheimer

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/BankTo00.htm

He was only here one year. He doenst compare to these other 2 busts.

Brunell 2004 9 games

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/BrunMa00.htm

Come on. He doesnt even belong as an option. People are just rediculas. I wish people would get over last season. Gibbs has. I thought we believed in Gibbs. He is a hall of fame coach. I trust his judgement. He said Brunell isnt done. I thought he was crazy but after seeing him healthy, I think I understand what he was saying.

The guy is a 3 time pro bowlers who came onto a team with a hall of fame coach who was out of the league for over 10 years, coming off injury, then got injuried his first game, with a 40 year old RT for his blind side and a running game that didnt match the RB. The only games he has played are the transitions games for this coach. His whole career states otherwise.

Among the league's all-time top 50

Pass attempts: 36t

Completions: 31

Passing yards: 40

I would put another on the list.

Jeff George. 2000-01 8 games At least he did something in his career but he was supposed to start here for 2 year and never did much.

We have to see how this poll plays out in a year or 2. Im guessing it would look at lot different. So many Brunell haters. We have given most of our players much more forgiveness. I believe opionions will slowly change and in hind sight, this poll will look silly.

Gus Frerotte

He wasnt the worst but man he ended up disappointing me. I wanted him to do so much better.

brunell displayed the worst qb'in skills i ever seen on television.

That was painful to watch but I dont blame him for all of that. That was a tough situation and he got hurt after 1 game. Pull a hammy. And he is a QB that needs his legs.

But yeah. That was hard to watch.

Jeff George takes the cake for me, for being such a whiney little self-serving sissy. We lost Brad Johnson because of him too ... the same Brad Johnson that gave us our one good year at QB since Gibbs left ... the same Brad Johnson who later won a Super Bowl.

Shuler was a moron, but at least he beat Dallas and he tried. And, despite the 1st round disappointment, we didn't really lose much with Heath as we got Frerotte and Trent Green for cheap.

Danny Wuerfell just flat out sucked and contirbuted nothing to our team.

Although Jeff George was trash in 2001, he led us to a couple of wins in 2000. Remember that awesome game he had against the Rams in St. Louis?

Tony Banks didn't do much but at least he could run. Plus he was in a run first offense so he didn't have to throw. Wuerfell was garbage in a throw first offense.

Heath Shuler wasn't groomed properly, well to be honest I never really saw him play, so I excluded him.

Mark Brunell had a bad year but he's been a good QB in his career. I think he may end up surprising some people if he gets a chance to play this year. Lets hope it doesn't come down to that though!

Your one of the lucky ones them. Actually, I not sure what he did actually would qualify as "playing" Well, not "playing" football. He was playing. "oh crap what was that " and "ouch" and "oh crap not again " and " good thing I held out, this stuff hurt" and "ohh, is that $1000 from my signing bonus "

lol

Did you guys forget about Shane Matthews? He had to have been down there with the worst of them. Brad Johnson? Are you kidding? He is just above Jeff George? This guy has a Superbowl ring because he was smart enough not to make mistakes that his number one defense could not over come. He is a joke.

Trent Green, now there is one that we probably should have kept for a while longer. Given what he is doing and has done in Kansas City.

What are talking a about wuerful was awesome he made manning look like a little league qb. Danny was my hero.

im only 18 so, i dont remember the redskins before like 92ish my first skins memory was the bills losing the superbowl then my memrory is blank till the terry allen era, he used to rush all over the boys. I defintely think that wuerful and shane matthews are the worst qb's i can remember but, brunnell reminds me of danny a bit.

maybe danny wuerful changed his name to scott brunell to try and rejuvenate his carrer

and last but not least don't forget about "butt-head" gus ferotte
