This weekend the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series are both in Michigan. The Craftsman Truck Series is off this week.

Winston Cup Series points leader Bobby Labonte tries to stretch his 101 point lead even further in Sunday's runing of the Pepsi 400. You can catch the race at 1 pm EDT on ESPN. Fifth place driver Tony Stewart will do all he can to challenge his teammate while at the same time avoid getting put into the wall by Jeff Gordon whom Stewart tagged last weekend at Watkins Glen. The action between Stewart and Gordon will be one of the side stories of this race to follow.

The Busch Series will run the Napa 250 on Saturday also on ESPN at 12 EDT. Jeff Purvis who's running 15th in the season points standings will try for his second victory of the year. Jason Leffler who's 19th in the season points standings will try for his first win of 2000.

Good luck guys and look out for #24, Tony!

After the Brickyard 400, I checked out the scene here and Stewart was up in Gordon's mug about the "way" he did what he did earlier, but then Gordon retaliated with the promise that it wasn't over. It appears that something went down, with Gordon blaming Stewart for the first offense, but Stewart stating something that triggered a monster of an affair over the next two days!!!! Man, my cable is getting upgraded tommorow, so I will be monitoring this situation. On the other note:

Labonte, man what can you say to a heads up guy with a Manager like Gibbs. Well here's to his team once more. GO GIBBS, LABONTE!!!!FRIGGIN RACE RATINGS ARE GONNA BE PUMPED!!!!!

First off congratulations go to Rusty Wallace as he piloted the #2 Miller Lite car to a first place win in Sunday's running of the Pepsi 400.

Second, if Tony Stewart has a death wish it's gonna be Jeff Gordon who pulls the triger. For the second race in as many weeks Stewart put Gordon into the wall in turn 2 trying to squeeze through Gordon on the outside and pole sitter Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Stewart got loose and took himself out of the race as well as killing Gordon's chances of running well. By wrecking the #20 Pontiac, Stewart lost 5th position in the Winston Cup series points standing to fall to 6th place overall.

Bobby Labonte had another great race holding off #88 Dale Jarrett at the finish to take 3rd place and extend his series points lead to 111 over defending Winston Cup Champion Jarrett.

Don't be surprised if next Saturday night Rusty Wallace wins again as the Winston Cup series move onto Bristol, TN. Rusty is a great short track driver. Tony Stewart is as well but he'll have to get untangled with Jeff Gordon if he plans on ever finishing another race.
